Rivera's future...

Mr. Scot

The NFL is moving at a much faster pace than even a few years ago.

Front offices are being turned over after a few years, teams that draft a QB in the 1st round aren't scared to again the very following draft, head coaches and coordinators are being hired and fired in as little as 1 to 2 years.

It's just moving very quickly compared to a decade ago.

Can Ron figure out how to zig and zag like that?  Not sure, he's a pretty steadfast guy.  If he can, he will continue to get coaching jobs, if he can't he will be on the TV soon.

I hope for the best for him either way.

i think if ron can take this and grow from it he can be very successful in the league.

like if he can realize the Xs and Os aspect of the game may have passed him by and not be afraid to surround himself with young and competent coordinators, he could thrive. Let them handle the actual game day stuff and just manage the team during the week.

I think Ron in Cleveland would be fantastic.

who knows? Someone on another board mentioned Arians learned a ton between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis, then of course Arizona. Hopefully Ron does the same.

He'll be coaching Dallas by March, but he will be interviewed for every head coaching position available in the league.

He had some spectacular moments here and we owe him thanks for those. Even the great teams, though, eventually fall to entropic effects beyond their control.
