Dalton:

Rivers:

Allen:

We can debate who is playing behind the worse line, but frankly, all three of those guys are the same guy.  The difference is that Allen still may have untapped potential where the other two guys are sliding into the twilight of their careers.

Not buying that.

I don't want Rivers, who'd be nothing but a stopgap, but he's been relatively successful in the NFL, and that speaks for itself. Dalton? Meh---not so much. Allen? Really ain't done poo, but get lucky that his team found a way to win (until I t didn't) despite his terrible turnovers.

Have you watched Rivers play this year? Dude is SHOT.

He had six games of exceptional play and has been playing poorly recently. I haven't seen any indication he is shot, more that he is making extremely poor decisions. It's something he struggles with for periods of time basically over the course of his entire career.

Recent terrible performances aside, pretty sure Rivers has said in the past he has no intention of going to another team and relocating his huge family. My recollection of Teddy is that he was not a good fit with Norv's offense back in Minnesota. Dalton might as well be an older more experienced Allen.

Frankly, with how trashed out offensive line is, focus should be more on rebuilding it for some future young QB.

When his teams aren't very good, he presses, always has.  That leads to the INT's and dangerous throws.

He's a gunslinger first and foremost.

there's not a single NFL QB I want running this team other than Cam.  If he won't play for us next year, if we won't let him for us next year, ok.  Draft our next guy.  Obviously everyone wants the Clemson kid.  If that's what it is, then make it happen.  Another year without Cam will get us to the top of the draft, no big trade ups will be needed.

If you don't have a franchise quarterback, you will not be anything better than mediocre, which I believe is what we're leaving behind.

Best scenario is to keep Cam Newton, but if he's still injured next year, I'd kick the tires on Mariota

Pair him up with someone similar to Greg Roman, and run a heavy zone read offense that takes advantage of his running ability.  He was an elite runner in college and they never really took advantage of that in TEN.

Need to get away from the zone read, it's what has kept us from growing as a team

We should aggressively pursue a trade for Derek Carr

The Raiders have an incompetent front office, and seem to be willing to part with him.  They'll trade him for the right offer.

Derek Carr is around the same level talent as Kirk Cousins, and will thrive with Kevin Stefanski (likely to be our next head coach).

This is assuming Cam Newton can not recover.
