Questions about Tepper

I have started to have some concerns about Tepper as an owner.  I might be reading too much into things, but hearing a few things Ron has said, and looking at how this year went I am starting to think there might be a Jones/Snyder type in the owners box.

Did Tepper dictate the defensive change to the coaches?  It is known Tep looks up to the Patriots and we tried to switch this year to the same defensive scheme.  (Without proper personel) Everyone agrees Ron is an excellent defensive coach, but this year was an absolute failure.

Ron keeps stating he wants control of the roster, who plays and where, not gm duties. I am starting to believe there has been much meddling from above.

Many of the defensive players are starting to be more vocal and some apparently want out.  In the past all we hear is how tight the locker room is.  This has suddenly changed this year.

This entire year was a total failure and cluster.  It is like everything changed over the last couple years.  The most disfunction I have seen in this team since Fox quit on the team.   I do not believe the players quit on Ron, I honestly believe the front office set up the coach for total failure.

This team quit when Ron got fired, that is for sure.  Ron at least had the team playing and was competitive.  Seems like a lot of the players are ready to move on, and that's fine.  This thing is going to end up being built from near scratch.  This is going to be ugly for a few years before it gets better in my opinion.

I am afraid the team is going to be ugly for a very long time if what I see is true.

Noticed Rivera talking about not having control of who was in his game day 46. If true, well does it really matter who the coach is? Lol

Might as well hire Jason Garrett if the Cowboys do not extend him.  At least he has experience dealing with a very hands on owner.

Why blame Tepper for Rons failures? Look up his interviews about the change from 4-3 to the hybrid, it was all on him and his pitch to stay head coach. He knew Tepper wouldn’t put up with the same results and used that, along with Cams injury as a reason to give him another shot. He failed, and failed miserably which is why Tepper moved on. It’s funny how Ron got blasted from the fans, now people act like Tepper is the owner of the redskins because he wanted to move on from Ron.

What do you mean near? It’s already here.

This.  Now starts the rebuild.

These last 4 weeks have been rock bottom. Have a little faith.

All this wailing and gnashing of teeth rings hollow... are people really content after the way the last 2 seasons have fell apart? I'm sure not.

We lost our last 2 games by 32+. That has never happened in 25 years. This is rock bottom.

I lived through 2001 and even 2010. We had worse rosters both those years, but we never gave up like this year.

The worst is over now. That doesn't mean we're necessarily going to morph into a great team again in the near term, but I feel confident we will not play as pathetically as we have the last 8 weeks again any time soon.

It's frustrating being a Panthers fan sometimes. Rivera was mostly overlooked while here but now he is the greatest coach to ever be fired. I liked Rivera, but come on...

The world isn't ending. We have the richest and perhaps the smartest owner in the league. He's self made and he did it managing money for other smart, shrewd, and above all, demanding people. He thrived in an industry that much like the NFL, trends towards the middle. He knows little things make a huge difference when beating the average where margins are razor tight.

We are in good hands. Of course a lot of the old guard players were going to get their feelings hurt. The reality is Father Time has already come for most of them. They wanted to believe they could recreate the past.

Tepper has made a living seeing trends before the rest of the market.

Give Tepper a chance. Good lord our fanbase still wants to give players and coaches who are past their prime chances.

2015 is over. And for that matter so is 2019. Tomorrow.

Time to move on and be optimistic

Newsflash- they quit before he got fired too.

The wanting roster control may simply mean that he had it here and wanted to make sure he would have it at his next gig.

People are trying to read what they want to find between lines that may or may not exist.

Always remember this

Correlation does not imply causation.

Ron had control of the roster. Him and Hurney are the two who made that decision so in my opinion, that's even more of an indictment against him. One of Ron's faults is his refusal to move on from veteran players and give the younger talent more snaps. It takes an injury for him to replace somebody who obviously shouldn't have been touching the field. Also I wouldn't give much merit to words coming from one of the worst defense's in the league.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
    • I don’t watch college football anymore (used to be Stanford STH but meh), but my wife is Hawaiian and her favorite color is purple, so I guess I knew Tet was my new favorite player to root for when he came out in a purple suit and lei and threw up the Shaka.
    • AJ Green is who I think of as well; the body control, fluidity of movement, hands catcher, always high pointing the ball with the occasional insane/acrobatic type of grab, etc
