So one thing might keep him from join NY is Gettleman.  Gettleman is a lame duck GM and will be fired next year if they produce another losing season.  Means Rhule might get the boot as well.  Carolina will give new coach a lot of power over personal and etc which might be more attractive.

Maybe our search for "assistant GM" is being offered to Rhule in a way?  He has more of the total control he's looking for, while Hurney sticks around to handle contracts and is "demoted" form GM while Rhule actually calls the shots.......yeesh.

My only thing with NYG is that I doubt that the kid is going to want to work with Gettleman.  And DG is not giving up responsibilities.

Mike Garafolo said just the opposite actually.

Rhule knows Gettleman from his year working with the Giants and is actually very complimentary of him.

Plus the control he wants isn't over personnel.
