Any optimism for next season?

Right now, there's an awful lot of very important stuff that's still unsettled. Nonetheless, I'm curious about people's general thoughts on the season to come.

Specifically, is there anybody that believes this team has the potential to pull out a winning season in 2020?

Do you have hope for better things to come or are you looking at next year like a kid waiting for his punishment?

Explain your thinking.

Seriously? 90% of this fan base will have this team in the SB, 5 minutes after the new HC is announced.

I think the best hope is for a decent season.  Of course the Huddle is so fractured about how they want the team to proceed next season that you are going to get a response in one of 3 general categories:

-Cam returns and the team will do OK

-Cam doesn't return and the team will suck

-It doesn't matter either way and hope the team sucks for a top-ranked 2021 QB.

No, it will take years to fill the holes we have on both lines and secondary. We just don’t have the talent or cap space. By the time that happens, Cam could be near the end or already gone.

I’m expecting a long rebuild but hoping for the best.

I am optimistic just like I was when Fox was sacked, and we got better as a result of that. This team has been under the same leadership for 9 years. Cam Newton has never had another professional coach. And like Fox, Rivera had his great moments here but his shortcomings were persistent and worsened over time.

The bad clock management, letting off the gas late in games, playing over and zone on defense every play, the list goes on. This team has become predictable in more ways than just the play calling. I've been over this version of the Panthers for a few years now and I'm just ready for a new era.

Who knows, the next version may be no better. But we've been stagnant and the prospect of a fresh start and new mentality for this team is exciting for me. I wish we had done this sooner.

It's all speculative now, but we have seen other teams have a very short turn around.  A lot of things have to fall in place, but a solid draft, 3 or 4 key FA signings and well built coaching staff can get us going in the right direction next year including going back to a 4-3 defense.

Again, for the Panthers, that will be like hitting the Lottery.  Could it happen?  Yes, just not likely.
