WHO THE fug...

Would trade for Cam? Can he even pass a physical right now? Ask your self if you were running a team would you trade for an injured QB who you haven’t seen healthy in years? He has zero trade value until he plays again.

If we move on from Cam this year without seeing if he can still play not only will it be dumb but it would most likely be the result of releasing him and not a trade.

I bet you could sucker a team into a 4th or maybe even get real lucky and score a 3rd with a contingency he passes the physical, which he will.

I do agree that he won’t be worth near what Cam fans thinks he is, something like being an MVP 4 years ago seems to be their selling points which is confusing to me.

there are good and bad reasons for keeping cam and for letting him go. They both can be rationalized depending on the direction of the team so people need to stop getting their panties in a wad and just enjoy the ride no matter what happens.

Job security in the NFL is practically non-existent. Every year there are front office execs and coaches going into the season knowing that if they don't produce significantly better results they're as good as gone. That creates an everything to gain, nothing to lose environment.

It's also worth noting that Miami's doctors thought Drew Brees' shoulder was shot. How'd that end up playing out?

For all of you making the case of a team trading for Cam why the fug wouldn’t we just keep him?

We won’t get poo in a trade. At the best we’ll get a 3rd or 4th rounder and draft someone who won’t be on the team next year.

Yeah trading cam for a pick that we use on a gulden or grier? It makes ZERO sense

We should keep him for the same reasons that other teams would be intrigued to trade for him. It just comes down to what's best for Cam personally. If he feels he can get a better offer elsewhere then he should test the market and secure his future. The Panthers will be here forever. Cam only has a small window left.

    • Jets are so screwed they think they're getting a leg up by not announcing who is starting at QB lol. That being said Tyrod still might be an upgrade to our qb room.
    • It's his lauch pad throws. In school he was behind great blocking and it's like he ran into his throws that went down field to WRs that had so much space they could adjust and still be ahead of the DBs.
    • We don't know 1) where we're going to end up picking in the draft, or 2) what QBs will even declare for the draft, let alone which ones will be worthy of considering in the 1st round. That being said, I feel like our best bet may be to pursue a veteran with some upside that could be at worst a productive stop-gap until we can draft our actual QB of the future and, at best, another Baker/Darnold/Daniel Jones late bloomer redemption story. So... Mac Jones, anyone? The 49ers have him under contract for 2026 and will almost certainly entertain offers for him after his performance this season. Also consider that while many here have soured on Bryce Young, there are almost certainly still executives in the league that would take a shot on developing him as a former 1st overall pick. If there is one team - and one coach/scheme - that could get the most out of Bryce Young it's probably Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers. I wonder if they would be interested in a swap of former Alabama star QBs with 1st round pedigrees? You could argue which team might have to throw in some additional compensation, but it could be a good deal for both teams. The Panthers would get a QB who would be an immediate upgrade with potential to be that next Baker/Darnold/Daniel Jones redemption story and the 49ers get a backup to Brock Purdy with a skillset that Kyle Shanahan might just be uniquely qualified to tap into it. Any takers?
