So this isn't a bad mock in terms of trades and what the mock has teams going after.  Raiders trade up with us take pick 7 and draft their Derek Carr replacement in Justin Herbert.  Panthers receive picks 12, 18, and 80th pick.  With the 12th pick Panthers luck up and their dream comes true with snagging a top 5 player at pick 12 in DT Derrick Brown.  A few picks later Panthers pick their Kuechly replacement with the best inside linebacker in the draft in MLB Kenneth Murray out of Oklahoma.   I love this mock immediately fills out 2 biggest holes on the defensive side of the ball.

I would be happy if this happened draft night.  But we all know its up in the air until draft night.

That would be a dream draft and even Hurney would have a problem screwing it up.

I gotta wonder if the positional value is there for Derrick Brown is there in the top 10. To my understanding starting defensive tackles play around 50% of defensive snaps in a game. Compare that to an OT like Andrew Thomas or Tristan Wirfs who will virtually play 100% of offensive snaps. If Derrick Brown is an Aaron Donald level prospect I can see it but that's a question for the scouting department to answer.

Doesn't fix our OLine.  but does give us another pick in the first round about the only good thing about it

if carolina is planning on moving on without Cam, then they have to fix the oline.  It's a must, you cannot stick anyone else behind that line.  They will get killed.  I see Carolina addressing the offensive line this draft since its more important than the defense at this point.  A defensive line can be bandaid together using free agents etc, but finding quality offensive linemen is more difficult.

Not a chance that Derrick Brown falls out of the top 10. He's that good. Like Murray though. Wouldn't be mad at the pick, I just don't think we need a MLB this season. We'll roll with what we've got and draft a depth guy in rounds 4-7 maybe, or sign a FA.

I think we stay where we are, guarantee ourselves Brown, and then go safety in round 2 unless a good guard drops to us at that spot. If not, we pick up a guard in the 3rd.

They said the same thing about Star and he fell to us

Would love the trade back with the Raiders, but also like the selection at 7 if a couple QB's are already gone.

Honestly, could see a scenario where Burrow goes #1, Miami panics that someone will jump up and goes to #3/4 to get Tua, and then either the Raiders jump up or the Chargers grab Herbert at #6.

I don't know man. Ignore the title of the video and just watch. Guy has a knack for getting a hand on the ball and getting off blocks. And if he doesn't slip you, he'll blow you straight back. And he's great against the run inside. He'll have a shocking 40 at the combine as well. He's special.

Go to 2:11 :shades: that's what our defense needs

If we trade down to the Raiders then I might just become a partial Raiders fan for their generosity. I don't see that happening because imo the Raiders will wait for Herbert to fall further and then make a move. They don't need to move up to 7 imo.

    • Yea when teams see a gun charge they rightly pause but this seems like a big misunderstanding.
    • Sorry man you lost me at "Teppers have evolved as owners". Limped into playoffs at 8-9 not even above .500 Tepper is trash as an owner bro and that's not even a discussion at this point. 37-83 w/l ratio. Nuff said.... Morgan tho, he's cooking and it ain't cuz of Teppers leadership
    • After listening to Morgan's presser twice, I came away with some key beliefs. First of all, I don't think he's a bullshitter. What you see is what you get. When he says something, he means it.  The Teppers really have evolved as owners. Morgan has mentioned how they're easy to work with--a pleasure to work with a few times now. There seems to be a good relationship between all of them (and include Dave Canales on that). We'll see if it lasts. Yes, no one wanted to come to Carolina with the previous management, but that seems to have changed. The team signed arguably the top Edge, LB and OT on the market, two of them on pretty good deals and one on what I'll say is "not a bad one." And, credit Sunshine Dave "Flowers and Cotton Candy" Canales for helping to change the culture. Morgan mentioned getting guys--and I'm paraphrasing--that are not only great football players but great people. Don't look for us to be acquiring any James Pearce types anytime soon, just saying. We'll see if that holds true in the future. Dan Morgan really has set up the Panthers to take the BPA/BAP. He mentioned it at least a couple of times, and he doesn't seem pressured to pinpoint a particular position. He just wants quality players that will help the team. This is how it's going to be (to your joy or dismay, probably for as long as he's here), and personally I love it. Many of us know how Morgan was when he played: aggressive! That's what he's going to be when making acquisitions. He explicitly said it, and emphasized it. All avenues are open (think FA, waivers...the draft)! Personally, as long as it's controlled aggression and not reckless aggression, I love it.  On KP: "Mobility is big in this league."  He basically says if another QB is the BPA while drafting--we're going by our board, people--we're going to add them.        ...
