No he didn't, that was a photoshop someone made with no source. Don't you think it would be all over the internet, espn, and fanbase if Rhule said that?

People have to make up lies just to make themselves look right.

If Cam was for sure coming back they would have said it from the start. You don't remain silent on your franchise QB if he was a sure thing to return.

Tell me how Cam Newton makes sense on a "long term" rebuilding process?

Im trying to figure out why our fans would even want to keep Cam with this current roster. We have no Oline, that is just asking for another injury.

If you a fan of the Panthers and Cam you would want him to be on a better team. We wasted him the past few years, let the man find success again with another team.

It may have been tongue and cheek but Rhule was asked what he planned to do with Cam. He said win a Superbowl with him

If I were the coach and constantly asked about him, I would say the same thing.  He is our QB until he isnt.

Our old buddy Schwartz weighs in...

With as many good things Greg has said about Cam over the years, being the best thing that happened to his career and all, I just can’t see Greg wanting to play for the Panthers without Cam at this point in his career. Greg has clearly stated he wants no part of a rebuild. And I have a strong feeling that his decision was tied to if Marty could guarantee Cam would be back next season, which he probably couldn’t.

i woke up this morning thinking the same thing.   greg found out cam's not coming back, either from cam or marty, and decided to dip.   i'm thinking the cam domino has already fallen.   i'm also wondering why the team put out into public that it wants cam to have a full eval on the field in march.  why would the team do that?

It's very premature to talk about Cam's future right now.  In the NFL, you either have a franchise QB, or you're looking for one.  We have a franchise QB right now.  Sure, he's been beat up, but he's also been there.  We also have two young QBs who haven't shown a lot.  Cam can put a franchise on his back and win.  He's done it before.  Is there anyone we can get this season who will improve our QB room?

I don't believe in the "tank" in the NFL.  Someone around here posted that most of the SB level QBs were drafted outside of the top 10.  There's something to that.

You have to give Cam a chance because he makes you competitive, which helps keep people in the stands.

To let Cam know that if he isn't able to fully throw in March, that they will likely be moving on.  Can't wait for him forever, unfortunately.

When something like that comes out, the first question to ask is, who does this info benefit?  In this instance, it's a warning to Panthers fans of what is likely to happen next.

You can not believe in "tank" all you want, and they won't say that's what they are doing.....but it's what they are doing.  Don't expect many free agents brought in, don't expect nearly as many starters over the age of 28 either.

Time to embrace it, we are starting over.
