the collective idiocy of this fan base in wanting to get rid of Cam for a has been veteran or a rookie QB like Trevor lawrence who could bust just like Joe burrow who could bust and just like Tua who could bust is absolutely insane. When cam returns to MVP form i can't wait for you idiots wanting him gone to eat the biggest piece of crow you can find. You people make me sick.

So everyone can be a bust but Cam is 100% lock to be an MVP again?

You realize we are already in the Browns rebuild, right? They’ve beaten us and been better than us for two years now even with their massive disfunction.

Lol, so true. His MVP season and his last truly healthy year was 5 years ago. I love Cam and I’d love to see him be an MVP for us for the next 5 years, but that’s honestly less likely than Fields or Lawrence being a stud.

These guys saying he’ll be an MVP are doing so from emotion. I’ve laid it out multiple times that keeping and extending Cam means that he’d have to be better than Lawrence/Fields (if we start Grier, we’re right there), a rookie(s) that we get in trade and enough cap space that would get us say Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack for years 2022-2025. I know which option I’d choose and it’s just a numbers thing, but I’d clearly think our SB chance window in the non-Cam scenario is way greater. Cam’s not winning us a SB this year or likely in 2021, so all other draft picks/FAs, the extra bump we get with a rookie QB (2021 class looks great) is a lot.

I get what you’re saying but I don’t think y’all understand we’d have to be browns level bad to get Lawrence or fields, in which we be trusting the future of our franchise on that one of them will be as good or better than a healthy cam.

another thing people are skimming over is that getting rid of cam, You mines as well get rid of cmc, hard to imagine this team being bad enough for a top 2 pick with him on the roster or justify paying him big bucks to play his prime years during a rebuild

For one year.... So what if that’s the case? We needed that to get Cam too. And no, we’d be trusting the next QB to be better than Cam is now, healthy or not, which is a serious question mark.

If we gut some more of the defense (especially DL letting all those FAs walk, and Bradberry) and after Luke’s retirement, our D will be bad enough to get us a top pick. Add in Kyle Allen or some other scrub at QB and regardless of McC we’re probably picking top 2. It could be a quick rebuild if we essentially tank one year to build up assets for the future and get our QB next year.

(this is all working under the assumption Cam is not in the team’s long term plans. My preference is to see what we have in Cam this year, and if he’s healthy we keep him. But all of that is still very up in the air. If I can’t get my first choice, then I’d prefer we tank 1 year to get Lawrence, rather than try to give up extra assets for Burrow or Tua this year, or god forbid go after Herbert)

We haven’t but I get where you’re coming from, there’s been little success for the “rebuild” teams lately unless a Super Bowl loss is considered success because the rams and 49ers just did what the panthers and falcons did in 2015-2016

I still like TD, but I don't think he's as connected to the Panthers as he's leading on.  Certainly not to the upper brass.  So he's probably going off of the player's takes and some other folks around the organization he may still have ties to.  Basically TDs relaying the scuttlebutt around BOA.

I don’t care what we do. Keep Cam, get rid of Cam.  I DONT CARE. All I care about is going into season after season knowing we have a playoff caliber team that will compete hard.

as of right now it’s

good season, great season, bad, bad, bad, mediocre, bad, horrible. Can we please get some Patriot level winning up in here?

How do you automatically go to the absolute worst franchise in the NFL for decades as some sort example of a result of moving on from Cam?

The other day a fanboy said Luke was nothing without Cam...

some even thinks he’s the best player to ever play for the Panthers (understandable these people didn’t know watch pre-2010)...

like holy poo you cam fanboys are going off the deepend...even for y’alls level.

for those of you fanboys sticking around post cam, chill the fug out the world isn’t ending, the Panthers aren’t becoming the browns, and they were never much better, can really only go up

it’ll all be ok.

SB wins and losses can be as simple as one play or one missed play. Getting there as a rebuild IMHO is success. We didn’t finish it like the others but at that point it’s on the coaches/players.

8 of the last 16 starting QBs whose teams made the SB (counting Wentz) were QBs drafted by those teams in the first 5 years of their career. The other 7 were NE draft picks 5 times, Peyton twice and Ryan.

Unless we are trading for a HOF QB or Grier is Tom Brady, the best chance we have based on recent history is to draft a QB in the first and hope he gets to a SB in his first 5 years.

There's very few on here that would want Cam gone if he's healthy. Even if he doesn't have the velocity he had before, he's a very smart QB and no QB we draft can come in and replace him.

However it's not that black and white, and football is a business. Whether its now or in 5 years, we're gonna have to rebuild. And a lot of people realize that, and some might want to start the rebuilding process sooner rather than later especially with the questions surrounding the competitive viability of our team as well as the sustainability of Cam's health.

So while you're sitting up there on your high horse calling people idiots for looking at things from both sides, if Cam comes back and looks bad still, you gonna eat that crow that you're trying to dish out to those people who see the merits of sniffing around and seeing what we could get for Cam?

I guess we’re not going to read what I actually said, nowhere in my statement did I say we would turn into the browns, but must of us don’t want to purposely tank, just a piss poor way people are hyping up as the best way to get back on track.

if we are moving on from cam for good reasons so be it but doing it just to be in the market for a top qb sets a very poor example
