I still think NYC screwed it up for everyone. Also giving increased incentives to treat coronavirus patients, I think the system got scammed....BADLY.  You can't look at NYC death figures and then look at every other city/state and say it looks normal.  Just dismissing it because of their large population is being very short-sided.  I would like to say their incompetence was due to ignorance, but unfortunately it was more than likely malicious.  Washington State/Seattle never got that bad and they were ground zero for the virus.  Chicago, LA, Detroit, DC, Dallas, Miami...this list goes on and on, none of these large cities experienced the same rate of death, so large populations isn't the main factor here.   Greed and politicization is at the core or this.  I really hope De Blasio gets thrown in jail once exposed.   Cuomo is culpable too.

Jesus.

Okay. I'm here to help you through this episode. Just follow my directions carefully.

1. Take off your tinfoil hat

2. Turn off OAN.

3. Google "Population Density USA".

4. Read.

5. Reflect on your vast expertise in epidemiology.

6. Realize you don't know wtf you're talking about.

7. Shut up about things you don't know about.

8. Never turn OAN back on. Ever.

They screwed up but they also have a unique situation that make it its own special little hell hole.  What's frustrating is that they are a media mecca so whatever is happening in NYC tends to be portrayed to the masses as if its happening all over the country instead of in one small super densely populated pocket.

NY definitely screwed up horribly and that's why I'm dumbfounded that they're trying to make Cuomo out to be some national hero. Having a brother who is one of those most prominent news anchors in the country is a big help in that endeavor.

I think they prepping Cuomo to run for President in next 4-8 years.

Yup, filtered and sanitized to fit a narrative.   Why is De Blasio forbidding trace workers from asking people if they had recently attended protests?  Initial reports from Missouri protest tracing, only 1.4% have tested positive so far.

Exactly. If there was a huge outbreak in Nashville or Dallas or CLT and nyc was untouched, the narrative would have been very different.

The northeast centric bias in the news has always driven me nuts.

I had been seeing stuff floating around about NYC's pols involvement before this video, but it was always second hand as sources were too afraid to come out directly (mostly nurses afraid of losing their jobs).  Two camps here, this lady is a freaking kook or she's telling the truth.  Even if she is being honest, she's going up against the NYC establishment so it's just going to get swept under the rug.  Shouldn't the NYC media at least do their due diligence to debunk it?  I mean, it's a very powerful accusation.  If it were a complete fabrication it should be easily and quickly debunked, correct?  Why completely ignore it as I'm sure someone, somewhere in the mega NYC media has seen this video.  Could it be they have no interest in seeing if there is any truth behind this and possibly bring further light to the situation?   Could it be they are willfully ignoring it in hopes it will just fade away?

Accusations and allegations (this video and other sources):

-Admitting patients that tested positive with minor symptoms--$10,000 for admitting COVID-19 patients

-Prematurely putting patients on vents; most died.  Hospitals got $36,000 from insurers for vent patients

-Coding non-coronavirus deaths as such to get earmarked money for having "treated COVID-19 patients"

-Putting COVID-19 patients in nursing homes with the most vulnerable populations

-Line item put in a budgetary bill eliminating culpability of nursing homes in coronavirus deaths, limiting litigation.

I mean, I could understand how this is a complete non-story...nothing serious at all about this, but Trump tripping down a walkway ramp is front page news.  The NYC media is either being very lazy digging into this or being tow-the-line accomplices by willfully turning a blind eye.  Which one is it?

Meck county now has active outbreaks at 21 elderly and congregant living facilities.

Seriously, why is it so hard to protect people in these places? It’s not like these folks are out in the streets riding public transport all day.

Sure, but given the risks you would think daily testing for staff would be required. It’s not that many people.

Also, if a resident tests positive move them out. Lots of empty hotels out there.

    • You may be interested to know that the average depth of separation is dependent upon the type of route run. Though go-routes are the most type of route run, they also produce the least amount of separation (and, of course, completions).   "The average pass catcher runs a go route on nearly a quarter of all routes (22.3%), the highest percentage of any route type in our data. However, those routes are targeted roughly 1 out of 10 times (10.8 percent), the lowest target rate of any route. The WR screen is the least-run route (3.4%), and it's the only route where the average target is behind the line of scrimmage. But it's also targeted at the highest rate (40.7%) and early in the play (1.6 seconds average time to throw). The most targeted routes outside of the WR Screen? The out (27.8%) and slant (25.2%) routes are the next most popular across the league."     "The most valuable routes by expected points added per target were the post (+0.48) and corner (+0.43) routes. The go route (+0.19) ranked seventh on the list of 10 route types. The go route (+0.19) ranked seventh on the list of 10 route types. One possible reason for this: It's harder to separate on go routes, which put the player on a straight path, than on posts or corners, which ask the player to make a cut. Targeted pass catchers on posts and corners average 2.4 yards and 2.3 yards of separation from the nearest defender, respectively, while pass catchers targeted on go routes average just 1.8 yards of separation."   https://www.nfl.com/news/next-gen-stats-intro-to-new-route-recognition-model#:~:text=Targeted pass catchers on posts,) and slant (+0.26).   I would expect that Thielen would have an easier time catching the ball based that he runs the routes where it's easier to get open. Tet? Yet to be seen, but we may be better served getting him on some slants and crossers also.  In general, receivers are going to average a lower completion percentage and yards of separation on certain types of routes than others, that's why we shouldn't necessarily be taking stats, even advanced ones, at face value, as there are dynamics that most aren't even thinking about.  In terms of Tet, he's bigger and somewhat slower than a smaller dude, so you'd expect him not to have as much separation on go-routes, but his catch radius is massive and his hands are awesome. Hitting him in stride will probably be killer, but of course QBs are less accurate on go-routes according to the stats. Depending upon Tet's route versatility and how he is used, we could have a unicorn though. He's relatively fast, has great hands and gets YAC (and on an off note, if X can hold on to the ball, he's dangerous as well because he already has shown some separation ability).
    • Most elite WRs aren't necessarily burners. Not a lot of elite WRs in the modern era were 4.3 guys. If anything, sometimes it seems like the super fast guys use their speed as a crutch and it hampers their development in the intricacies of route running.
