I knew of a few people who got sick early on, and they flat out refused to test them until they exhausted all other options first.  And even then only 1 of guys finally got tested, and they still didn't test the other guy.  They just released him from the hospital with "I'm not sure what you had, but your okay now, bye."

Fast forward and its a night and day difference.
