He expects Trautman to go in the first 15 picks of the 2nd round as well.

Dropped a lot further than you expected

Shocked Amik Robertson still sitting there after you mentioned they had a early 2nd grade on him.

What's the deal with Amik?  People scared by his height or what?

He's a 5'8" corner who will be covering 6'2" and up guys. Very few can give up 6 plus inches and win battles in the league. That's why several lower rated CB have already been drafted due to their size.

His team had a 2nd round grade on Amik. Not sure what happened.

They might have also liked Amik a lot, but felt like they had to go with a guy that has better chance of playing outside.  You could think that Amik has a better chance of being a great slot CB then this guy has of being a great outside CB but you kind of paint yourself into a corner.

Maybe if we had picked a CB earlier in the draft they would have jumped on Amik right there.

Maybe he can last to our next pick?

How do you think Pride compares to Hall from Clemson?

I have not done any studying on Pride, so I am trying to catch up today. I know he is really fast and has awesome boundary and make up speed.

I want to watch more film on Trey Lance but I gotta agree, he should be rated above Fields by January of next year. Ryan Day’s offense is almost a high school offense with a lot of read options and downfield shots. I know NDSU is a legit NFL caliber offense with motions, shifts, under center with progressions and reading coverages. I think that itself lends to Lance > Fields

Watch his game vs Nicholls and Montana state, pretty insane stuff.

trey lance is just, such an interesting prospect. very interested to see what he does this season, as if we are picking high (given our brutal schedule we should be) he is definitely an option. will check out the game you mentioned to the other poster. also, no kyle pitts? i've seen him in the top 15 on some boards.

I love me some Kyle Pitts, he is right there in the conversation. Reminds me of Shannon Sharpe.

    • CJ Stroud going to flame out if he doesn't watch out..
    • This play was never designed to go to either DJ or Odunze. The primary read is Burden who is stymied early, with the outlet being Kmet if Caleb doesn't like the option for Burden. Given the situation it's pretty obvious the simple play is to take the free yards with Kmet, or if you want to be aggressive just wait a beat longer for Burden to uncover on his double move. If Moore was ever going to be a viable target in this play then Caleb should have started out reading Odunze to hold the safety in the middle and then coming to Moore, but because he started the snap staring down the right and then came back to the middle late it made it where the safety's leverage remained to the outside of Moore, so he would never have imagined that pass actually being thrown to him in that situation. Realistically DJ's best option in that context is to just occupy the safety to leave a hole open for Caleb to get it to Burden, which is probably why he throttles down vs carrying the safety across.
    • Even with Sonny Styles still on the board I thought it's a no brainer to address the Oline after Icky's injury.  And how can you pass up Fano at 19 given our situation. Then the rest of the draft just kind of made sense with maybe the exception of Klubnik.  But if Canales can fix him and Young goes down. . .I think it's a solid pick. What do you think of this draft?
