Awkward interview with Simmons

Jonathan Jones reported that at the combine, one of the coaches had a bit of an awkward interview with Isaiah Simmons. Also, Panthers didn’t believe that Simmons enjoys contact.

But but the Panthers had Simmons rated about the same as Brown but chose the line to fix first,..

that was the story.

I had heard several other people say this as well. Said that people assumed he would be a good fit a LB just because of his size but said that film showed him shying away from contact. 

Several scouts said that his MOST NATURAL position was likely safety, but because of his size he would be placed at OLB. 

 

I really liked Simmons but I also feel like he has a big 'JAG' potential simply due to be used wrong.

It's believable. Roaring Riot said he really wasn't hearing much rumbling about Simmons from the Panthers. I don't think it was nearly as close between Brown and Simmons for us as some seem to think.

We are probably one of those teams that ask questions like: “Your mother and an evil dictator are drowning, but you can’t save your mom and you might be a homosexual, what do you do?” 

Im just saying how dumb some of those questions can get in these interviews bc one year, a team asked a guy if he was gay. So stupid.

That's what scared me the most with Simmons, you have to move him around, that's his unique ability. Guy has so much talent but he needs a smart defensive coordinator to get the most out of him.
