Saints used a draft pick to spite the Panthers

Not mad at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure we won this exchange. Saints invest a 6th round pick on a 4th string qb who was destined to otherwise be undrafted. We should start feigning interest in other players no one else wants to spend even a 7th rounder on. Also let's not pretend late rounders have no value. At minimum they're ammo to move up, which the Saints know all too well since they did just that this year.

Even you must realize that using 2 picks to keep a guy off our roster is kinda dumb.  We are talking at best Practice squad caliber of a player.

Eh, somewhat, but it's amusing. Payton feels he could possibly be an asset and we didn't have anyone else of interest in the draft so why not have fun. As long as it's not a 5th rounder or higher then it's good with me. Our 2021 6th rounder probably wouldn't have made the team anyway.

He can have him...the Saints will still choke in the playoffs

Better than missing the playoffs the 3 out of the last 4 years only to get sent home by that same team in that one playoff appearance.

Right.  And I’m sure you know that you can’t put him on IR until after the final 53 has been made.  So you are going into a super bowl run with  4 qb’s on the roster.   LMAO.

So which position on your team are you going into the season with super low depth on????

You're talking about a team that ran with 4 WR's for a majority of the year last year like it's concerned with "low depth" for one position for a few days until after the 53 is finalized. C'mon man, LOLOL.

oh yeah that playoff appearance where your team got a horrible grounding call at the end which all but cost us the game (however we didn't cry all offseason about it to get a rule changed, even though we didn't have another chance in OT) and cheered after cam took a helmet shot, who woulda thunk it?

Here is my point though.  I’m not mad Payton traded and got him.  It happens more than we know in the league.
The difference is most organizations and head coaches never would talk about it.   Your classless brain damaged mfer HC actually did a fuging interview and bragged about it.
What a classless piece of poo.

Your sad ass fan base whines like their little head coach who obviously has a complex from his childhood of getting his ass kicked daily because he has the athletic ability of a toothpick.  And then he tries to use a situation like this to make sure he is really a cool kid by bragging about it to stroke his fragile little ego

But in reality the karma your organization has gotten over the past several years is exactly what it deserved.

And just remember karma will pay that whiny little mfer back for this one as well.

Lots of sour grapes in here.

But regarding Stevens, I highly doubt he’ll be cut since we effectively poached him from y’all. I’d bet a fat stack that he’ll end up on IR by the time roster cuts occur because I highly doubt we end up carrying 4 QB’s.

Also for those saying y’all would pick him up off our practice squad, y’all know he’d have to go on y’all 53-man roster for an allotted amount of time, right? Can’t just take a practice squad player off one team and put him straight on your practice squad.

Have you seen our roster? We’ll have plenty of available space on the 53. Agains, we are discussing a kid that would have been an UDFA and most likely is out of the NFL in a couple years.

We wanted him as an undrafted rookie. If we thought he was something special we would have drafted him. I think Brady just liked the fact he knew his offense and could run it for the practice squad. The kind of stuff happens all the time. It honestly sounded pretty friendly between Peyton and Brady. I’m just worried that if Brady is who we think he is, we won’t have him long...

id be all over Marty if he made a move like this.  pure emotion pick.  you can get good guys in the 6th round, then you trade a 6th rounder away to get someone that was more than likely not going to be drafted?  emotional.

6th and 7th round picks have a >80% failure rate. Would rather use those picks to trade up or trade for established players.
