Cameron Sutton?

He was one of the 17 UDFAs signed after the draft.  I can't exactly remember his backstory, but he was either a basketball player or had only played football for a short period of time.  Regardless, let's just say he's a very late bloomer, but very good athlete and physical specimen.  He was signed strictly for his potential, not for his college production.  Think Chris Manhertz or "Swole Bones" (forgot his real name).

The good news, for whoever this dude is, is that we are pretty awful at the TE spot right now

He was ninth in receiving yards on a 4-8 Mountain West team last year. Also has seen time at fullback, which could be why he was signed. Still, it seems like Hurney threw a dart at a list of prospects, landed on this guy and was like “fug it, those haters think I don’t care? Think I gotta go for only all-conference or all-American stars after this draft? Check this poo out”

My expectations for UDFAs are always low. But, he's the type of UDFA I like. Very raw, but plenty of moldable talent. Most don't work out (Swole Bones is an excellent example of that), but with UDFAs it's no risk and all potential reward.

They spent a lot of time with him to get him here.  He has a shot--prolly a PS player for a year.

    • At this point, I think Chubba is the odd man out. I hate that, but I think Dowdle gives us more production and big play ability.  But there is still a lot of football to play.  I think it depends on how much Dowdle will want too.
    • I’ve been anti-trade when it comes to Melo, but the way this season has started, it may be time.  I love his game and he’s a cool dude, but I’m starting to think, if he’s your best player, you’re never going to win anything of significance.  Too many brain farts, too many injuries, and ultimately for as fun and entertaining as he is to watch - his game is indeed a thing of beauty - it just doesn’t translate to wins.  And that’s IF he even plays.  I think it’s time to cash out and maximize the return.  I love Melo, but I think it’s pretty clear what the ceiling is for a team where he is the best player.
    • Every NFL team, college program, hell even HS has numerous "what ifs" that got derailed by injury. It's a brutal sport and half the battle is just getting lucky enough to stay healthy. Doesn't matter how durable you are and how well you take care of your body everyone is one weird hit or awkward twist away from a career derailing injury.
