If you thought the deep south racists trashed Cam ... wait til he meets southie.

I've already had to sit through racist ranting from them just because I was wearing his jersey in a sports bar in the friggin' state of North Carolina.

I am surprised their stadium isn't like a soccer stadium with the racist chants. What a bunch of fuging scum people.

I don't see New England revisiting their decision on Cam.

The Pats look like a team searching for a QB who will be the starter for years down the road, essentially the next Tom Brady lite.  I think there is a great chance they enter the season with the depth chart at QB of Stidham, Hoyer, and somebody that none of us have heard of, barring injury.  I don't believe they think Stidham IS the answer, only that he can be the answer.  Hoyer started his career with the Pats, which  probably explains bringing him in as the backup or insurance policy.

From what I've read and heard, I don't think anybody affiliated with or rooting for the Pats thinks they are on the cusp of another Super Bowl in 2020.  So that sense of urgency is not part of the equation.  They have some hope of competing based on the fact that they are in a division with a rotating cast of doormats and teams that can't complete their rise.

I agree with the idea that Hoodie is looking for a cerebral QB, not somebody flashy.  No matter how many names people post of characters, keep in mind all but one of their tenures with the Pats was relatively short.  Anybody in a Pats uniform playing a position that is replaceable is a commodity, no matter how talented they are.

You answered your own question. If he didn't want one like him then he wouldn't have stuck with Brady so long.   Duh..

Why would you get rid of a qb that won you many rings and hasn’t shown signs of falling off? :)

It is widely reported (and accepted) in the Pats market that Hoodie wanted to part ways with Brady three years ago.  He had confidence that Garappolo was Tom Brady lite in the Pats environment and wanted a smooth transition at the position to keep the dynasty alive.  Kraft overruled him, and wanted Brady to retire as a Pat.  By the accounts I read, when that happened Hoodie accepted the fact that the dynasty would end and have to be reconstructed when Brady retired.

The irony is that Brady didn't retire when the time came, so neither Hoodie or Kraft got what they wanted.  In fact, there was a lot of expectation among Pats fans and the media that Hoodie was going to move on this offseason, not wanting to sweep up the ashes for a fire he didn't start.  The fact that he didn't may mean he got some serious understandings from Kraft about the impact of of hanging onto Brady. Like patience in finding the next long-term QB.

You wouldn't if he won those rings by carrying out your scheme and assuming your style of coaching and your overall demeanor.  The question is whether he would have won those rings if he hadn't.  We will see how he does this year under a different system and coach. But there has been a lot of speculation that they have won because of the system not because of Brady especially when Garapolo took over when Brady went down and they kept winning.
