He didnt deserve a statue IMO but yeah the way people are poo pooing him all of a sudden is pretty short sighted.   He did make it his life goal to bring football to Charlotte.

Ya but only if PSL owners bought him a stadium (Rare even for nfl standards) and tax payer renovated it for him....we should be so grateful, no other rich businessman could of possibly represented the team any better or created the demand or interest for a team in the carolinas

get real, that wasn’t his lifelong dream, money was. Proven by actions and he saw an opportunity, then exploited people who’s dream it really was for a stadium to make a business and more money

you must be one of those people that thinks Colombus discovered America

Hell no it wasn’t wrong. poo if I could do it I would too.

Just means being real about his intentions and priorities. Business was always number one. JR isn’t some sant who came in and convinced everyone all of a sudden a team should be built here. Demand did that. Tax payer sand PSL owners. A city willing to put up all that is special. A rich businessman wanting to make money off it all? Nothing special.

Especially a cheap one. Tepper hasn’t been around long and at this point he isn’t special either. But he’s already listened to fans, shown he cares more. Interacted with them. Gave us signs money and business wasn’t above all by hiring people who can make a difference within an organization such as mental health specialist, a practice dome... you think that’d ever happen under JR? No.

As I said more time to see if Tep is a special owner, but at this point he’s done more than JR for this franchise IMO even in his small amount of time here. Doesn’t make him special, just makes JR poo.

Agree on most if not all counts.

Jerry was a sh*ty owner.  Not as bad as Mike Jordan, but close.

In Jer's world profits were Jobs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7...

...winning showed up sometime after that.

Having an owner so rich that the football team is his hobby, is what you want -- that's Tepper.  The next key is that in addition to being filthy rich, said owner has massive intellectual horsepower -- again, Tepper.

I believe over a 20-year time frame the on-field results put up by the Panthers under Tepper's leadership will be EXCEPTIONAL!

That said, he's doing his best to emulate the Wallenda's as goes to the business side of the situation...

...good news is he can afford it no matter what.

Wat the actual fug...”I don’t care about statue” *puts in contract clause*...society goes into chaos and unrest *removes statue* “meh, I didn’t care about the statue anyways”...

I mean can a person be more full of poo than JR without exploding? The world may never know.

I can certainly think of a few politicians lol

It was really weird he had a statue out front to begin with. i mean when you got money like that you can do what you want but still...

But I am not understanding all the hate for him. Half of the people that make posts here are racist and will on a day to day basis make comments to female employees that in the modern age are considered sexual harassment and ground for lawsuit, call the hot latina at the restaurant a racially insensitive terms because they thing they are being cool and speaking "spanish", or suddenly speak in "down" dialect when they encounter a black person around. All micro racial aggression

This old white boy that grew up and was raised in the south when laws were racist af and that was the norm. Why are any of you surprised? You long time fans that have been around....where was your voice of this racist cracker 20 years ago? No sir...we all kept our mouths quiet because got damn country ass NC in the 90's got a major NFL franchise and this old ass good ol' boy brought it. Seriously yall didn't know?

Not cool he fuged up. With that much money he should have had people to check/educate him on the way things are done today.

The statue was a gift to him from the minority owners.

Yeah, everyone should have known. At the time he was awarded an nfl franchise, his other businesses had already paid out 54 mil in discrimination lawsuit settlements.

Wow this is nothing but offensive trash - please tell me this guy is getting banned for the slur he just posted?  This is quite possibly one of the most ignorant, offensive things I have seen posted on this site.  Does this site normally allow this?

richardson was forced out of the league for sexually harassing employees and apparently calling a staff member the n word. jordan is miles better than richardson as an owner if for no other reason than that. weird distinction for you to try to make there lol

that's not a slur, snowflake. it carries none of the oppressive weight of actual slurs and is actually referencing a guy who used racial slurs against a black scout.

save your bullshit tears, no one cares if you're offended by that

Slurs are slurs - doesn't matter oppressive weight.  If you think one matters and the other doesn't your entire argument for equality is in the toilet.  I don't care if the guy it is said against founded the KKK it is still an offensive word to use for a race.  So if a black team owner treats a white scout the same way JR did you would fine with me calling him the N-word?  I don't think so.

And trust me I am very far from being a snowflake...but I am not gonna sit here and read people saying stuff like that about anyone.  You want people to tolerate racism or not?  That attitude is BS I have had to listen to my whole life - not happening.
