City approves street names around Panthers facility

Construction is very obvious along Eden Terrace at I-77 and down off Mount Gallant Road. The city has also approved the names of several streets in the new complex, including Tepper Way, One Carolina Drive and Keep Pounding Way, among others.

The full list hasn't been released yet, but word it is that Richardson Avenue and Blue Jean Road didn't make the cut. 

(initial plans had those two streets meeting at a rather awkward intersection)

Roads are named after the land owner all the time.  Ever driven out in the country?

Not really a fan of "Tepper Way" either. Comes across as presumptuous and maybe a little egotistical.

If I'm being honest, "Keep Pounding Way" sounds a tad awkward to me too.

(I know, sacrilege...but still)

Hoping they named one for Sam Mills. If there's a Tepper Street but not a Mills Street, ouch.

At the Hershey plant in PA there is a Hershey Avenue.  Anything is better than that.

Yup. Working as an in home sales rep for 5 years took me out into the country side often. Not at all uncommon for the name of the road and the last name of the person I was meeting to be the same. Why is doing this when you're rich somehow less acceptable? 

Is it my personal favorite name? No, but it's not my land, so he can name the road whatever he wants.  My personal street will be named Raymond K Essel Avenue, and if you don't like it, you can go pound sand.
