Imagine paying Taysom Hill 21m for 2 years.  And having to lose Kamara.

That being said I expect from "clever" book keeping and Kamara to get ~14m

they aren't mutually exclusive. NO could probably find the money to pay Kamara if they want

i mean the saints have traded away major offensive players before and not missed a beat.

i can see a world they send kamara to like the bears, grab a pick, then bring in fournette for one year

everyone knows the saints are a crater after this season anyway

Latavious Murray would step in and do much of what Kamara does. He was quite good in Minnesota.

Saints are going to be interesting the next year.

Theyre already 78 mil over the cap for 2021.

Sheldon Rankins is a FA for them

Marshon Lattimore going into his 5th year option and will want to be paid.  There are 2-3 other Elite CBs (Ramsey, Marlon Humphrey, etc) hitting FA and expected to set the market.

Ryan Ramczyk going into his 5th year option this year, and will want North of what Jack Conklin just got at 16 a year.

This is the big thing.  It's not just Kamara, it's A LOT of key guys for them (and some not even mentioned above like Demario Davis IIRC).

Not to mention, the Brees decision where even with retirement, he's leaving behind a ton of dead money. The Saints lived a few years longer due to a couple of amazing drafts.  Their window is this year because those drafts have now caught up to their cap.

    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
