• Christian McCaffrey played 65 of a possible 67 snaps on offense. Mike Davis was in for three snaps and Alex Armah had eight snaps.
• DJ Moore, Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel played the majority of offensive snaps at WR, with all three playing over 75 percent. Brandon Zylstra (eight), Seth Roberts (five) and Pharoh Cooper (three) saw minimal action on offense.
• Chris Manhertz technically started at tight end, but Ian Thomas saw more snaps at tight end. There were 13 snaps when they were both in together.

• Donte Jackson played just 11 snaps before leaving the game with an ankle injury. Rasul Douglas played 51 snaps in his place at cornerback, making two pass deflections.
• Jeremy Chinn played 100 percent of the snaps in his debut, racking up eight tackles. He had the second-most tackles of any rookie in Week 1 in Panthers history.
• Brian Burns, Derrick Brown, Kawann Short and Stephen Weatherly all played over 60 percent of the snaps along the line, while Zach Kerr, Bravvion Roy, Yetur Gross-Matos, Marquis Haynes and Efe Obada rotated in at a little under 20 percent of the snaps. Kerr had the most run among the second group.

Bravvion Roy getting 30% of snaps is interesting. That is a whole lot of rotation for a 6th round rookies first game.

I didn’t focus on him really but our LT not getting completely abused is a nice change.  Congrats to Okung and Moton for that matter.

Well, that explains why Gross-Matos seemed invisible yesterday. Turns out he hardly played.

Rasul Douglas is going to be the best off-season acquisition this team made. Looking at the game from yesterday, he definitely stands out as our best CB.

I know it's hard to take CMC off the field, but for all that talk about Mike Davis and his great camp he ended up only getting three snaps. I hope we're not not going to run CMC into the ground before we have a team that's ready to legitimately compete for a spot in the playoffs.

Take CMC out and I think it may have been a worse result. They know for absolutely sure you are going right up the gut

Honestly he made more of an impact than KK Short did.

Not surprised to see Chinn on the field all game. Dude is a stud in the making. Future Thomas Davis replacement at OLB.

I'm talking about the game as a whole, not just that final play.

Too much was made out of YGM and Manhertz listed at head of depth chart. Neither played more and YGM didnt start.

I thought Roy playing a lot too was shocking.  But he seemed to anchor ok.  Most of running lanes was to the edges.

 

Also, KK short with 40 snaps and was completely invisible. 

 

And Tre Boston playing 100% of snaps and looking like dog poo.

I feel like everytime I looked up, I saw Kerr in the game, to see such a lower number was surprising. 

Boston-Chinn-Burris needs to be on the field as much as possible. I think Douglas was a helluva signing and our starting CBs could be Douglas-Apple at some point with Jackson and Pride rotating in and out where needed.

Biggest problem areas for us that concern me the most are Whitehead and KK. It's only one game, but whoooo...... it was tough to see.

If our rookie DT is getting double and triple-teamed and disrupting a top-5 OL, he needs support shooting the gaps and creating pressure for all of his work.

Moton looked like he struggled in the game, IMO. I was very surprised to see that. He allowed 2-3 pressures that I counted.

If you don't notice your O-line, thats a good thing. usually, their screw-ups are the only thing that gets noticed unless you're specifically watching.
