Odd that we are looking at WR's. That is supposedly a strength.

Let's be honest. A "strength" on this roster could still be considered a potential weakness. Anderson is a proven NFL starter. Moore has shown a lot of promise and we're hoping he'll take the next step. Samuel in a really quick guy with durability concerns that virtually everyone is ready to move on from. The rest of the roster is a bunch of JAGs.

Kid was a freak coming out.

The offensive system he ran in college and his route runninh due to it caused him to fall.

Joe Brady worked with WRs primarily along with the QBs at the Saints.  This about the time Michael Thomas took off.  Brady was also the WR position coach this past season at LSU and is credited to trio that is going to produce 2-3 first rounders.

Id love for Brady to get to work with this kid

Theres got to be some sort of off field issue or something if he hasn't even made a practice squad

Raw athletic freak who never had to run a route tree because the offense and he could dominate with that ability.

Good thing we have a OC that helped coach Michael Thomas.  And is credited for coaching up some WRs (Justin Jefferson 1st this year, jamar chase top 5 next year  and a 3rd that people are projecting mid 2nd to late 1st)

the criticism of butler has been that he isn't active enough with his hands in press coverage on short and intermediate throws and isn't an explosive change of direction type of talent and that hurts him in situations where he needs to sell a move or make a sharp cut at the top of his route. with that said, i do think he gets activated eventually. teddy is a game flow rhythm type of quarterback and he needs a receiver capable of climbing the ladder when things break down and having a guy that can move back towards the LOS and box out. arizona apparently wanted quicker feet or more nasty and didn't get much of either. we don't have a 3rd down hands option anymore now that Greg is gone and receivers unable to make in throw adjustments last week derailed a lot of promising drives.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.

    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
