The best thing that has happened to Cam in recent memory is being released by the Panthers and picked up by the Patriots.

Night vs. day sort of situation for Cam's career.

It's sad, but true. Until we prove otherwise under different leadership, we've become one of those NFL black holes that players have to escape to truly shine.

Agreed. I would add that the foot injury was a blessing. It finally forced him to let the shoulder heal. And it shows. Without that, Cam probably struggles through 2019 with that OL, and just continues the pattern of playing at about 75%.

The risk is his arm wearing down mid season again or the hits just stacking  up, He and RW are the same age but I'd bet my left nut RW is still playing at 36 Cam is the Dan Morgan of QBs I feel for him he's beat his body to hell.

Y'all love to constantly bring up Cam's shoulder as if you're hoping he gets injured again.

It's hilarious to watch.

Its fine to worry Cam may not make it through an entire season given recent injuries... but some of the posts certainly don't sound like concern... I think his long term durability may be a question, but we have no reason to fret about it right now. Frankly I trust the Patriots to take care of him given what they have.  If they weren't sure he could play after game 1 they will be now.  That was one of the most exciting games I've seen in years.

And the Dan Morgan of QBs... christ... Dan Morgan played fewer than 60 total games and I'm not sure he ever finished a season healthy.  Cam played without missing time for years... yes its been a rough 3-4 years for him, but he's proven before he can stay healthy. So let's see if he can get back to that.

Tepper's an arrogant ass. That's the reason Cam's gone because he thinks he can do better. If he really wanted to win now he would have kept Cam. Bridgewater isnt poo compared to Cam. The fact don't care about your feelings

The silver lining here is that the best thing for Cam is to be on the Patriots because this team has too many flaws to go anywhere. He deserves a better opportunity if he's going to resurrect his career. Do you think Tepper considered that? Maybe but considering Cam said that he only got a text message I think probably not.

Tepper and Rhule do not want to win now.  This is a tank year.  If you all cannot see that by now, then IDK what else to say.  They are both process oriented guys.  The process for this team starts with tearing it down to its foundation and building it back up the right way.  We need to get a top 3 pick this year to secure our QB of the future.  Whether it be Lawrence, Fields or the kid from North Dakota.  One of them will be a Panther next year.

Somebody forgot to tell Hurney, cause he is wasting comp picks and cap space like a drunken sailor.

Rivera used to keep Cam in the game down 3 scores in the 4th Quarter with one minute left and called runs and poo. All those games everyone was like WTF is Cam doing still in the game then he gets super sacked....

Yeah. This, while he continually handcuffed Cam during his entire career, playing slow down ball anytime the Panthers got a two TD lead, no matter how early in the game. Eventually, the team would come back, and/or the Panthers would lose, while Cam's stats could have been twice or 3X as much if Rivera would have just kept the pressure on. Eventually RR's bad coaching skills, time management caught up with him. So ironically, he needed everyone of those points he was giving up with his slowdown offense every time the Panthers got a lead.

You hate it as a Panthers fan. But we all know, it would have been better for Cam's career to leave Carolina years ago, and away from RR; Gettleman, and Marty Hurney's care. That last big contract really hurt Cam, as that's where he was virtually left alone to accumulate so many injuries, while he took the easy/big money to stay in Carolina.

Right - thats laughable.  His arm is not going to "wear down again" from throwing 50 passes once a week.  Hes not a baseball pitcher.  His shoulder is probably stronger now than its ever been.

    • Yep he made the comment " I dont know what they were doing out there at that point" in the press conference. Let's be real they all got paid but they also know his system suppresses there offensive potential.
    • Yup the casuals on Facebook ive gotten 85 laughing or angry emojis so far for pointing it out.  The amount of them throwing a fit because the canes were booed is insane
    • Why are you so fixated on yards? Even if yards were a good judge of QB play, his low yardage totals in some of those games were partly a function of drops (looking at you Xavier Leggette…).  I’m not advocating that Bryce was elite for the last half of last year, but the eye test certainly supported high level QB play for large stretches. He made a lot of high difficulty, put it on the money/drop in the bucket throws. He converted on 3rd and 4th down, kept drives moving, and put the team in position to win games. And it’s not on him that the defense blew it late after he led game tying drives, Leggette dropped a game winning TD, or Chuba fumbled the ball in OT. We could have finished the season close to .500 with wins against 3 playoff teams including KC and Philly during that stretch largely due to Bryce’s play.    Has he sustained this level of play long enough to deserve an higher ranking? No. But for judging based in that stretch alone, he would. But whether he can perform more consistently at that level or build on that, and thus earns a higher ranking, remains to be seen.
