Never having substained success can make you root for a long term goal and not get tunnel vision, Despite what you may think I am have no desire to "tank" I simply have no expectations of this team winning.

I'm sure we will pick up a few meaningless W's.

This sums up most if not all of the posts you have made.

not mad at all either because I saw the writing on the wall in the 2nd qtr and went and had a fine day out-n-about checking the score on my phone.. my expectation were high prior to the season - I though maybe 8-8 with a 10-6 dream scenario.. after week 1, I saw enough to lose all expectations and not get any hopes up at all this season..

you ready for a statement that will make most Huddlers heads explode - I was more sad/disappointed at the Patriots loss than the Panthers yesterday.. I didnt expect to feel that way, but just found myself rooting for the Pats n Cam during the game

The Patriots will forever be an enemy team and will always be the most hated team in the NFL with or without Cam at QB.

Being down 21-0 in the second quarter doesn't scream competitive to me. But, whatever tickles your pickle, sir.

What happened next was competitive and the first game was completely competitive with a chance to win.  You can't change the truth no matter how bad you want the team to be

Hate them if you will, but the Patriots haven't been a negative factor in the success of the Panthers since 2003.

I'd be more than happy for Cam if he won a Super Bowl as a Patriot.  Especially in a year where it is obvious the Panthers won't be in contention for the post season.

The reset will not be complete until Hurney is shown the door.  Marty is still up to his old tricks of signing mediocre players to bloated contracts.

We had thought Hurney's contract was up at the end of this season. Turns out it's through next July so, barring any changes, he's got one more offseason free agency and draft coming.

Person has said he thinks Tepper is inclined to give him at least one more year.

Here's hoping he's wrong.

What’s up with Ian Thomas? Is he even out on the field? Anytime a TE is making a catch, it’s Manhertz.

Looking like we’ll need to go TE in the draft or free agency.

Thomas is just the typical Huddle fool's gold guy. You can include Curtis Samuel in that.

I highly doubt you will see either get second contract's here.

My impression is getting bashed repeatedly while remaining in the pocket was far more detrimental to Cam's physical health over the years than running with the football.

I think the accumulation of all of it was bad but those hits in the pocket were definitely worse.

Yeah, when it comes to Panthers management, Multi-billionaire David Tepper has no excuse (based on a contract) for holding on to a bad apple like Hurney.

Excellent perspective @Jeremy Igo!

This looks like an NFL team.  Not a good one, but a competitive team that's going to fight.

I'll take it rather than the half ass games we're used to getting.  In time, we'll get better.  This is going to be a much more exciting team come November/December, thankfully!
