I've said before that I'm not a big fan of having the highest paid player at any position.

With that said, I think in order to truly understand McCaffrey's value, you have to think of him as two players in one. He is of course easily the teams best runningback but at the same time also arguably their second best receiver.

That's a weapon.

If you talk about him in terms of just a runningback, you're not understanding everything he brings.

There's a hole visible right as the video pauses.

McCaffrey would have shot through that for a big gain and quite possibly a touchdown.

But srsly, these folks talking about the RB being a dead position in today's NFL are either stupid or still clinging to the idea that an RB has to be a giant bruiser. How they can convince themselves that a position that can take hand offs and catch passes in space is less valuable than a #2 WR I'll never understand.

Mike Davis is just a guy. He runs hard and keeps his leg churning, but his field vision is poor and he's slow as molasses.

I saw some folks compare him to Jstew in the gameday thread... Slow your damn roll lol

Trading Davis makes more sense. We won’t have him long term, he isn’t going to get snaps when CMC comes back and there is no chance we outbid other teams in free agency.

For what it's worth I think CMC and Davis have more combined talent than DWill and JStew.
