I know. I had flash backs to early last season reading this thread...

Or when he proclaimed Terrell McClain a pro bowler....but hey I don’t wanna fault the guy for being optimistic. Panthers fans have had a lot to be doom and gloom about over the years. This season we can at least see some daylight.

Rest of schedule:

at Falcons W (likely)

vs Bears (maybe a toss up)

at Aints (likely)

vs Falcons (likely)

at Chiefs (almost certainly)

vs Bucs (likely, maybe a toss up but I feel good about this one)

vs Lions (likely)

at Vikings (likely)

vs Broncos (likely)

at Packers (almost certainly)

at Washington (likely)

vs Aints (I'll call this a toss up, still not convinced the Aints are as bad as they've started but we're at home)

Our schedule looks a lot easier now than it did before the season if you ask me. Even with all the toss ups going to the opponent, that's 8-9 wins+. We'll see how the rest of the season plays out, but I think .500 or above is very realistic at this point. Things can change quickly of course, especially with a loss on Sunday, but I feel pretty good about our chances to sneak into at least the 3rd wildcard spot, if not the division.

Good breakdown. The next four weeks will tell us a lot about where we fit in this picture. If Panthers can manage a 3-1, I think our chances go up quite a bit.

I think there is a pretty good chance the Panthers win the NFCS in 2021, something I didn't think they would have a chance of doing until at least 2023, they are way ahead of schedule.

- Bucs bought a on a one year superbowl attempt and still are mediocre.

- Brees last year in New Orleans.

- Atlanta, well, Atlanta is Atlanta

Folks, this is the quickest rebuild in NFL history. From nothing to respectable in a few months.

Good golly miss fuggin molly this feels good.

We gonna need an offensive line to to accomplish this next season

I'm not quite as confident as some of you guys are about our win total this year, but I'm happy enough already with our new coaching staff and our young players.  Additional wins this year are just icing on the cake.

Btw, take a look around at our bandwagon.  See all those empty seats?  Not even cold yet.

I think our defense has improved drastically.  After the first two games I didn't think we would win any games.  We looked so porous.  The defense has started to improve and IMO the reason why we are so excited.  Our offense has the weapons to put points up.

I think if we can take advantage of the injuries of the Falcons we can keep moving up the power rankings providing the defense contains Ryan.

From there we just keep fighting.

I am not sold that we can win the NFCS this season but I do believe we'll be competitive in most games.

Still a little premature...

We've had more than one year before where things were looking good early but tanked late. Heck, just two years ago people were saying Super Bowl after we signed Eric Reid.

Nothing worse than premature.....

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
