He's playing, 100%....not sure why you think otherwise?

I may be wrong but I don't think just being out of the green jersey and participating in practice in a likely limited capacity means he's fully cleared the concussion protocols. Pretty sure for some of those concussions Luke had he practiced for days/weeks before finally being ready to come back and play. I hope you're right, but still not expecting it.

YGM is an ankle problem. Probably a lingering injuries, those are bitches. Burns was a possible concussion, but that looks to have been not so bad. Although that hit was pretty damn bad.

mild concussion, we need him out there. Foles is lead feet. he better play.

Good sign. Still not counting on him playing Sunday but obviously very good news there.

Posted the following in another thread yesterday on the issue:

I think it’s a reason to be optimistic. Based on the above, I’d say he’s likely at the step right before being cleared (position Specific training minus contact activities) given he’s out there with a helmet. There are quite a few steps before: stretching only, then medically supervised light aerobic, then cardio then strength training. Then they can do position specific minus contact.

The last step is the team clearing the player to return and the team’s neurotrauma expert concurring. Based on the speed of progression, seems possible they put him through the protocol out of an abundance of caution. I’d bet tomorrow we’ll have our answer.”

It’s not 100% clear from the article whether returning to contact and the neurotrauma expert’s concurrence are simultaneous, but reason would suggest as much before returning to contact. I believe the fact that he’s been cleared for contact most likely means he’s cleared to play barring some bizarre setback.

From what I recall you had to go limited in practice then full contact and not show any residual symptoms after each step in the process. I would think he would have to be a gametime decision and then easing him back into a game if he plays. Seems caution is the watch word these days.

    • Decided last minute to to take family to game.  Cheap tickets sec 134 (which is kindof sad in of itself) made the 10 hour roundtrip and glad as hell I did.   - Defense played out of their mind.  Mike Jack smithwade looking at you -Penix is fuging terrible, not worried about him at all - Falcons, wtf were you doing, running when you should be passing and vice versa.  Why the fug didnt you run the ball on us?  - Canales, I get you are green but damn man tighten up your time management  - We won so not going to bag on Bryce too much but yeah man to argue he isnt limited is lol funny - We finally have a kicker and that feels kindof good all things considered - someone earlier mentioned tepper and we didnt see him in the box the entire game, not sure what thats about -Chubba, Sanders and Tet took some absolute monster shots and popped back up, not sure how they do it because it sounds horrific.  Chubba took one right in front of us and he got up laughing.  wow
    • My exact list for the shout outs in the same order (though I admittedly had the rookie edges @ #4 and Fitz @ #1)
    • Yesterday was also the first time we saw all three phases of this team play complimentary football during not just Canales' tenure but Young's as well. While he didn't have to light it up through the air, he did spread the ball around to nine different players. TMac's drops hurt, but the team was able to rally still thanks to the defense finally getting to play with a lead. Plus, TMac still had his positive moments like the catch and run as well as the poster-shot he created by climbing the ladder. I hope that this lit a fire under XL. With Tremayne's emergence and Coker coming back from IR in the next 1 - 3 weeks there is going to be less patience with his issues. Let's not forget though the most important thing to watch for: how XL responds to the adversity. Nobody is going to have a perfect career, but how they handle the down lows will be what gives them a chance to get back to experiencing the highs again.
