Trade rumor...Curtis to Giants for Engram

Eh idk. I know that Curtis is popular trade bait around here. But he's a versatile guy that can make a difference and serves as depth at multiple positions. If we had him against the Bears I bet we would have won the game.  And if you trade him all the sudden WR doesn't look that great behind Moore and Anderson.

I don't think a move like this would be just about this season. It would mean that Samuel isn't in our long-term plans anyway, so why not move him to get a look at someone else who could be?

This. This all day. Rhule knows we need a big body WR and help at TE. Engram is the replicate of Moss for brady at LSU. Samuel doesnt add anything to this offense we dont already have. Not saying he isnt talented, he very talented. He just doesnt add what we are missing.

It makes sense that Gettleman would want a guy he drafted. He has a tendency to go get “his guys”

I can also see us wanting a new TE and Engram is more of a hybrid than a pure TE and I think Brady would be able to use him in the slot. Engram also doesn’t really fit Gettleman’s style for TE.

if I'm reading overthecap right, the Giants did pick up his option next year for 6 mill.  The Giants also gain that much cap room by trading him.  Don't know if they have cap problems, but it could be a reason.

overthecap also provides their opinion of a players value for the next year of a contract.  They value Engram as worth 8.25 mill per year, and Curtis at 5.268 mill per year.

Why wouldn't we have Samuel in the long term plans?  He will likely sign a very cheap contract that will carry minimal risk.  The guy provides a spark and opens up the field for our playmaker.  Trading him for Engram would stifle the offense and hurt our short yardage game.

He'll make more than you think. FA WRs have been getting stupid money in recent years
