Wait nobody here actually views Teddy as the future right? Asking for a friend.

i was told that he has "shown flashes of being a franchise player"

this coupled with the argument that he's "basically a third year player" and he still needs to "learn the system" and yeah, it seems to me that some people do view him as the future. there's of course some hedging going on but that's probably because of how things went at the end of last season when all of those early kyle allen threads got bumped.

Curious question, who should be the Panthers QB of the future? TB was the best option this season imo although I'm questioning the price tag atm.

In hindsight, the best option would have been to trade up to 3 or 4 and take Justin Herbert. Though at the time, that would have caused a unanimous hatred of the move on this board, myself included.

Article from December 2015, Teddy's second year as a starter:

Bridgewater’s failure to make big plays a concern in Minnesota

6 touchdown passes in 9 games, only 6 completions of 40 or more yards (unclear if that's total yards or air yards, I assume total), talk of weak arm strength... these concerns have been around his entire career. Minnesota had seen enough to know their answer was no.

You guys are pathetic. You all have spent the last two months talking bout how great Teddy is and calling anyone who disagreed Cam nut huggers or whatever other lame insult you could come up with only to jump ship.

Igo's opinions on Teddy have been absurd, but at least he's standing by (sorta) his position.

only the Jets have scored less points than Carolina in the 2nd half this season.

which probably speaks to more than Teddy.  Carolina's offense isn't dealing w/ the halftime adjustments each week well.

    • Honestly I haven no idea what I would have even done last night, Edgecomb was the most realistic option to improve our team
    • He doesn't have the athleticism to play in the NBA. He had the worst numbers of anyone who worked out in this draft. He's legitimately the least athletic player in this draft, which is saying something.   His ceiling is Kyle Korver, with his lack of athleticism he's more likely to be out of the league in 5-6 years like Jimmer Fredette.
    • Well, he was in probably every NBA franchise's top 6 or 7. Obviously it's nice to take the swing and it work out. But when a guy refuses to work out for your team, is probably the guy refusing to play with LaMelo, has sketchy handlers, etc.? You want...to take that swing? A desperate team does, sure. Which the Hornets are. But a smart team doesn't. Which is what they will hopefully become.  Kon isn't a superstar, but his floor is Kyle Korver. Is that what you want in the 4th pick? Not really, but he's your 4th guy on a good team and what I think Charles Lee wants in a player.  Trade down would've been nice, but for who? Tre Johnson would've been my guy, but he's gone if we trade with Brooklyn. If Washington wanted Ace, I doubt it would've taken much to come get him. Trade down and get Maluach (knowing you're trading Mark) would make sense and may have been the play, but I think Kon helps the team on the court and changing a culture. Not so sure about some of the guys in the 8-12 range.
