ruptured plantar fascia last night

not a career ender per se, but definitely something that's going to take a while to come back from, it's another foot injury, it's the kind of thing that's easily REinjured, and he has tons of offers waiting for him. Gotta think he voicemails from Fox studios on his phone this morning.

So what do we do?

Sign him for a 1 day contract to retire a panther if he wants?

Honor him before a game/at halftime?

Statue?

Ring?

Sorry to hear that. Super awesome guy and a great role model.  Honor at a game for sure. But statues and rings are a bit much IMO for ANY player that didn't finish out their last years with us.

Damn another foot injury? That is probably a wrap for him unfortunately. The crazy thing is he was basically an iron man until he got the first foot injury with us, then it was just one after the other

I wouldn't say statue but definitely ring of honor and retire as a panther. Best Panther TE.

Wouldn’t retire his jersey. That’s overkill. Ring of honor for sure.

Man, he did alot for the community, a poo load. He worked with my foundation as well, so I am bias. He is just a good dude overall. His performance on the field had him as a top TE for consecutive seasons. Maybe it is overkill.

Foot injuries have a long history of taking out big men. That's a lot of stress on some really small structures. Just seems like oftentimes once that ball starts rolling there's no stopping it.

Do you realize Greg was the first TE with back to back to back 1000 yd seasons?  At minimum ring of honor.

Also remember it wasn't Greg's decision to move on.  We let him go.

And that's after we had a really good TE before him in Westley Walls.

    • Having trouble finding all these articles saying the Raiders withheld information. Here’s the latest from Crosby’s surgeon: ElAttrache told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday morning that Crosby was "doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. He is certainly on track in his planned program." "We truly respect the work of the Ravens' staff with Maxx regarding the contract physical exam. We also understand the challenge the staff faces when tasked to provide a future risk assessment based on an evaluation early in the recovery process," ElAttrache said. "This is especially challenging when dealing with an elite player like Maxx considering the level of commitment necessary for a team to obtain him. The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear."     So the Ravens excuse is the future risk assessment based on the physical, not that the Raiders withheld information. They found an excuse to save face publicly. They had the right to cancel the trade for no reason at all, but they’re trying to save face with the most acceptable reasoning they can find. I’ve heard and seen the Ravens getting dragged everywhere for this. You know what would be an easy way to put a stop to that if you’re the Ravens and the Raiders were actually the shady ones withholding information? Just come out and say that you were not given all the medical information. But they aren’t saying that. I guess they’re just taking the bullet for the Raiders just because?    Speculation indeed.
    • Two first round picks for a guy with very questionable knees who will be 29 this summer. Yes it is safe to say the Ravens got cold feet.
    • The salary cap is the reason we got Phillips and Lloyd
