Postgame quote from Rhule

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

“Instead of pointing fingers, I’d rather point the thumb back at me and just say, hey, that’s not good enough, that falls back on me. That’s not like coachspeak. I’m disappointed in myself and my staff tonight.”

Coaching always plays a part in wins and losses. And deserved or not, Matt Rhule is willing to accept blame for bad games falling on himself and his staff. The closest to that I ever remember getting from Rivera was a "maybe".

For whatever you think of him, I consider it a positive that Rhule accepts responsibility for the outcome of games.

Its great Rhule can admit he fugged up. The issue is these coaching issues have become habit though this year.

I don't know how much he actually did, but that's not the point.

I'm more just happy that he's not making excuses.

I dind't see the post game presser but he had to be referring to the drive where DJ got hurt.

I like he took responsibility and just like any rookie he's going to make mistakes.  The most important thing I hope he does.  IS NOT REPEAT THE SAME MISTAKE OVER AND OVER.

Rhule is going to be the Panther Coach for a long time.  I love his attitude and how the players unite around him.

The defense played well yesterday limiting Cook to only 61 yds on the ground.  Not bad for the 2nd best running back in the league.

Yep, first game this season where I think both Snow and Brady laid an egg.

Game was there to be won, but their play calling in the 4th Q was horrendous.

I do hope Rhule gets some time off in the BYE week - this season is clearly wearing him down. He's looking more and more worn out.

    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
    • Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
