For all you tankers out there...we are now sitting at #5

  • Dallas has 3 winnable games left (SF, Philly, Giants)
  • Atlanta likely will not win a game the rest of the season ( Tampa x 2 and KC)
  • Houston is likely to win 1 more game this season (Indy, Cincinnati, Tennessee)
  • Philadelphia, fresh off a victory over N'Olins, could win any of their remaining games or lose them all (Arizona, Dallas,  Washington)

So if you consider the remaining teams with 4 wins (all jockeying for the fourth pick), Atlanta seems to be the biggest threat to the Panthers.  Tank fans need 2 things to happen--Washington needs to play well and New Orleans needs a reason to play week 17.

I honestly don’t believe we need to stay at 5 to get our QB. If we get any of the top 4 I’ll be happy, and one of them will be available in the top 10 picks

You could be right---the top five picks could be 4 QBs and Sewell (likely a Bengal)

Jets-Lawrence

Jax-Fields

Bengals-Sewell

After that, teams will be trading up to get that QB.

Maybe I am over-analyzing Jones and maybe he is simply blessed with a stud OL and a stable full of thoroughbred WRs, but If we could somehow get Sewell (Let's say a team trades up to get a QB and Cincy moves back) and take Jones in Round 2, I think we'd say we had a successful draft in 3 or 4 years.  I think I would rather have a combination of Sewell/Jones than Lance/Walker Little, for example.  I am higher on Jones than most because his accuracy and timing have been excellent.  I think if we take Jones, we better build the best OL in the NFL--he will need a pocket.

Understand that I want a first round QB too---but not a Rosen or a Darnold.  I would hate to take a bust knowing the best OT since Joe Thomas was on the board....I think a LT is that important.

How come we are ahead of Falcons?

Does the SOS change over the season?
And if so, how will our and Falcons SOS change with these last few games left.
Do we need Washington to lose some games? and that Tampa win against Detroit?

Ideally the other 4 wins teams all get another win so you don't have to worry about sos and tiebreakers

Not a fan of this guy. All that damn talent around him makes me skeptical.

I agree. I'm afraid of letting Belichick have Jones. I think he's underrated by many. Kid's gonna be a very good NFL QB imo.

    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
    • No We have been making excuses for him for 3 years, and we have gave him a hundred chances  Bryce is a bust, and we need to cut him now and stop wasting everyone's time
