The more I think about it, I bet this is happening mostly because Tep sees 4-5 other GM openings and he doesn’t want to miss out on his guy, especially with him having the deepest pockets in the league.

This right here is a pretty good insight.  I think that's EXACTLY why the timing is what it is on Marty.  Similar to what he did with Ron.  Allow him to get his guy, whoever that is.

While I'm sure Rhule and Brady were happy with Bridgewater, I also think people jump the gun too much in assuming they pushed for him the most.  It was a Hurney play.  Because there's one guy who gained the most from not tanking the season, and that is Hurney.  No way Cam was going to return, and so Hurney shot his shot with Teddy.

Maybe I'm wrong.  Even if so, Hurney made a lot of other mistakes that doomed the team.  And this is coming from someone who thinks his 2nd run with the team went a lot better than the tail-end of his first run here.  But this team has GOT to be better.  Tepper doesn't want a loser franchise anymore, and unfortunately that is what we usually have been with Hurney at GM.

Some of the comments by (Rapoport Tweeted) Tepper make it seem Hurney and Rhule weren’t on the same page and Hurney may have had more control then we thought.

#Panthers owner David Tepper: "You look at successful organizations, and there's a certain alignment between the head coach and the GM. To think that you can do that without some sort of alignment is nuts. So to not have a head coach with some input into that is stupid."

Learn to take the personal out of it.  You can like or dislike the job Marty did here, no problem.

But Marty is a pretty good guy.  Decent fellow with faults and strengths just like everyone else.  Hopefully he's set for life and can do whatever he wants.

Yikes that's an image.

I can't wait to find out. The fact he was told to get a LT and got Little probably has to be added to his list of failures under Tepper.

Now to see what is released by the team in the why. The fact they put him out on his butt this late time before the draft and free agent ramp-up is a really positive sign they are 100% comited to not having him around doing whatever he did last year.

Little reeks of one of Hurney's wild hairs where scouts are screaming one thing but Marty thinks he's outsmarting everyone.
