The difference between Wilson and Lance is slim.   Daniel Jeremiah really likes Lance's tools, and I was for Wilson, then I read this (I value Jeremiah's opinion on QBs) and now I am so confused!:

Seriously, if the Panthers were in the same situation as the Jaguars, would you consider any trade to not draft Lawrence?  I don't think I would.

What would KC trade Mahomes for right now?  There is no amount.

If Lawrence has a chance to be that good, there simply is no justification from a football standpoint.

And given where they are as a franchise, they need the spark of drafting a guy like Lawrence more than draft picks.

I really do hope the Panthers inquire about trading up for Lawrence, I just honestly don't see any scenario where the Jaguars even consider trading the pick, much less considering what it would take in terms of draft capital to do so and how much it could potentially handcuff the Panthers going forward.

There is no justification Lawrence will be good, even with good building blocks around him. There are way too many people that think every top QB from college is going to do good in the NFL. The reality they aren't. Since the Mannings we haven't seen a top 5 QB win anything. Most good QB's are 11th+ to about mid 3rd.

BYU as a whole played bad, but Wilson was one of the few who didn't.

His line did block. In fact he has one of the best lines in all of college football. And he’s played poo competition. For these reasons no way I’d want him at #4, it’d be a reach. Now bottom of the first....if that can be finagled, I’d take it.

As much as payton would love to screw our draft position by resting his starters, I dont think they will have that luxury.
