People make up all kinds of stories around here based on nothing but opinion.

Bradberry didn’t like Carolina goes with other myths like.

Tepper wanted to fire Tomlin.

Tepper thinks Hurney has a great eye for talent.

Rhule wanted to trade down and got mad when Hurney made him take Brown.

yada yada.

He was from SC. Marty wanted to go LB because he knew what Ron liked and probably still thought Donte was as good.

Heck, forget wasting money on Teddy. Not paying Short and Okung was basically two years of Bradberry. We could have easily afforded Shaq, Bradberry, Moton and Moore instead of Teddy, Short, Okung, Weatherly, Roberts and Apple. Instead all those guys will be gone soon and we’ll only have Shaq and Moton or Moore.

Nope. We spent $6M more a year to have Teddy and lost a 3rd while realizing we have a big need at CB and that Teddy’s not the answer.

Add in Shaq bloated and CMCs way too early contracts and it's a full plate of stupid. I hope the next guy is simi-competent.

I really hope that the decision to re-sign Shaq while letting Bradberry walk played a role in Hurney's firing today.

There are just so many things since he joined again, it’s almost hard to pinpoint just one. Bradberry, Teddy, Short, Okung, Little, Gaulden, Weatherly, Gano over Butker, Paradis/Williams coming off severe injuries, Poe, Roberts, McCoy, Apple, Searcy and probably more but I’m tired of typing. Amazing that was 3 off-season and a tiny bit of 2017.

The cmc contract was just dumb considering we didn’t have a serviceable QB at the time.

Yeah, cmc is a weapon but it’s clear he was going to start breaking down fast. I think we are really going to regret that signing.

I wanted to trade CMC last year for a higher pick. I don’t know if anyone would have taken it, but I think everyone on this board  would trade cmc for Herbert right now.

I’ll be honest, if we didn’t waste so much money, CMC and Shaq would be fine. CMC will be fantastic for a rookie QB and he will help us win. Marty was dumb to sign him already not because we should have gotten rid of him but because we likely paid more than we should have. Marty should have said we’ll work on the contract after the rookie deal is done and lock in the 5th year and do an extension starting in 2022 but signing bonus before 2021. That said, I do think we need CMC and staring after 2022 he’s easily cut with little to no dead cap. He had a bad year but I also think we were extra careful but again this would have been his last year under the rookie deal. We were never getting rid of him until after 2021 even if we didn’t extend him. He should be back to healthy for 2021 and 2022 and however long we want to keep him.

And we won't even get a comp pick for it?

Yeah, go ahead and fire him a couple more times. I understand Bradbury not wanting to be here but zero value in return is just a complete failure.

Honestly it didn't matter what Bradbury wanted, we could have paid his asking price or slapped the tag on him.  Hurney made the decision that Bradbury wasn't worth what he was asking end of story.  Bradbury proved he was a CB1 this year and we could have really used him.....he still has years left to continue being a CB1 ala Josh Norman.
