Tepper said he will be the tiebreaker if needed

I like that Tepper is agressive in choosing the right folks to build a winning organization , but I really don’t want him meddling in roster decisions or who we draft. I didn’t like hearing he may have to be the tiebreaker between Rhule and the new GM.

You have a couple of choices on that front. Either you give one guy full power or you step in yourself, but only when necessary.

In the past, the guy at the top was about always the GM, but more and more these days coaches have a higher level of influence. That's where you get guys like Matt Rhule who say they're not just about X's and O's.

The middle ground for me is having an owner who steps in when needed, but only if he's asked. I understand that he owns the team, but he should also understand that doesn't make him a smart football guy. He's the guy who hires smart football guys and lets them do their jobs.

So basically, stay out of the day to day stuff, but step in if your people can't come to a consensus.

And if your people hardly ever come to a consensus, find new people.

What do you suggest? Paper rock scissors two out of three?
