Panthers want to interview Ryan Poles (Chiefs) for GM

It will be interesting to see if Tepper actually pulls the trigger on this kid, or someone similar. Honestly, that would give me more comfort because it would indicate to me that he's serious about developing his franchise in a more outside-the-box framework and context (if you understand what I'm saying).

Any chance we could hire this kid for a non-GM position (like assistant GM or something else)? I have my heart set on trying to pry Colbert from Pittsburgh; having a kid like this here too to learn from him and take over at some point would be absolutely ideal.

Colbert is great in theory but I think we need to be focused on the future. Get a guy that can grow here with the team for the next 20 years(like Colbert did with the Steelers). You want a guy that can collaborate with our coach for the next decade+.

Interesting candidate. Only 35 years old from a legit franchise. I would much rather do this than some old retread.

Is he the one that identified Mahomes? I recall back when the Chiefs traded up to get him most were wondering wtf they were doing by reaching for him.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
