How much you willing to trade for a QB

Picking #8 and who knows who will be available. Should they have a plan B to either trade up or a trade for a established QB if no one is avaiable. What do you think would be the best option if they really want a QB this year.

Trading for an established QB makes no sense for us. None could be true long term options (unless a Watson type was available, but he’s not...) and with Teddy already eating cap the next 2 years it just wouldn’t work. Needs to be a rookie QB.

You are asking a very vague question. What QB are we trading for, either in the NFL or in the draft? What do you mean by "decent" QB? Teddy is a "decent" QB. Why would I make a lateral move?

I wouldn’t be even remotely upset trading away a future 1st to get our guy (IN THE DRAFT) if we get a franchise QB. I don’t expect to be picking in the top 10 next season and that is the one position you never regret trading for if you get your guy. You cannot win consistently in today’s NFL without a franchise QB. No way we trade for another vet QB. We cannot afford the 20 million owed to Teddy along with someone else

To be honest trading for a rookie is a bad investment. You don’t know what you are getting in return . I’d trade a 4th or 5th for Carson wentz

edit I take that back wentz salary is insane they will have to cut him

The rumor mill says that the impending Wentz trade likely involves restructuring his contract.

We will draft a QB this year. With the rookie salary cap it makes little sense not to. We will also bring in a vet to compete as backup as well.

I don't want us to trade up at all given there is no real consensus best guy especially after Lawrence got exposed.  Seems we can find our franchise guy at 8.

All that angst from the tankers and we still got a top 10 pick. Hundreds of post whining and bitching and we are still likely to get the third or fourth ranked QB which is not very different if we stayed at 3 given that there isn't consensus about we is the best despite all the Lawrence fans. Plus both Jacksonville and the Jets will pick a QB.

Totally, the real question is how our new scouting crew will view Zach Wilson, Trey Lance & Mac Jones.  One of those three is our new QB.

I would have no qualms with trading for Stafford if he hits the market. I don’t think he would command a first but probably a 2nd and 3rd. Then again Sam Bradford garnered a 1st so idk.

I can see a world where Elway trades for Stafford and offers up Drew Lock.

Given the salary cap contraction I expect a bunch of teams to be dumping high price vets.

    • Well there goes the bullied victim spiel.
    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
