Not to  mention there are a few who could trade up as well. It's a bad year to need QB.

I cant see them drafting a qb that high just to have him sit behind Ryan. His contract is pretty big and has three years left, I don’t see them cutting him and no one will trade for him. To me, the Lions are the team to watch out for. I don’t think Stafford has as many years left on his contract and it will be up to their new coach if he wants to roll with him a few more years.

Cap makes it very tough. Could see a new coach doing it if he falls in love, but unlikely IMO.

And it’s the right move for you guys. Lots of close losses and chokes this year were more on coaching than personnel. I don’t see any reason the new HC/GM couldn’t turn it around relatively quickly and get a solid 3-5 more years from Ryan, potentially contending as soon as 2022. All depends on hiring the right HC and GM though, which is the much bigger question for you guys than the future at QB.

If we identify a QB prospect we want, we better make a move up the draft board and go get him.

Sitting and waiting would be very dicey. The Chiefs jumped up to #10 from #27 to get Mahomes, but I'd be willing to bet they were making calls prior to that and teams either weren't answering or they couldn't work out the details.

We’d be lucky to get the 4th best QB I feel like. 

Here’s the teams ahead of us that could realistically draft a QB:

JAX, NYJ, MIA, ATL, DET, PHI

That’s 6 of 7 teams. If you take MIA out, the least likely imo, that’s still 5 teams ahead of us who are probably seriously considering QB. I think it is all but guaranteed that the top 3 are gone by the time we pick, and all it takes is one other team to really like the 4th guy and we are screwed. Not even sure I want the 4th best guy tbh, unless our scouts feel he’s more like the second best.
