...but reading between the lines I get the feeling that Rhule thinks with a year of learning on the field under their belt, proper off-season prep, a much improved offensive line, and a healthy CMC in the backfield that Teddy and Brady can get the offense where they want it to go.  
 

I know this thread will get destroyed by the “you know who they are folks,” but at the end of the day I really think Rhule knows that with CMC injured all year and the offensive line being so bad, that they haven’t been able to do the things they planned on doing with Teddy this year.

So my all in push is that this offseason Rhule and Co hit the offensive line hard and do a few more defensive tweaks and use the summer to prepare everyone to get better together as a unit and give the offense a fair shake at it. 

I just think that Rhule seems to think more of Teddy’s abilities than many observers seem to, and thinks that once he gets in place the things he wants to (because this year he didn’t have CMC and nothing near the pass protection he wants for any QB), that Brady and Teddy will do what he believes they can do.

If CMC was healthy for the whole year and Teddy played a little bit better, panthers could have been 10-6, fairly easy. Could'uh should'uh would'uh tho...

I thought at max, this was a 3-13 team. In those loses 8 of them the panthers had a chance to take a late lead or tie. I think if was a normal season with OTAs, rookie camp, etc etc. We beat the raiders and win more of those close games. CMC would have helped the red zone, he had 6 TDs in 3 games. 

I look forward with Rhule, when I had huge questions about him withall the baylor/temple hires. Honestly the only position group that looked worse form 2019, was TEs. Each group lost talent, especially the DL and each group improved in 2020. Rhule also had the team ready for 60mins+ and made halftime adjustments.

I think he was real about the off-season for Teddy. I know in one game, they had a hot Mic and Rhule joked with Teddy about " You had one run and now youre tired" I dont think it was a joke anymore. Teddy needs PEDs and weight room time. He could get better and stronger. Rich Gannon did, Teddy could too.

I guess part of my thinking is that I don’t think Matt is the kind of guy that would make things so obvious regarding the direction they will be taking in the draft. And yes part of his response could be a public smack talk to Teddy that he needs to get in the weight room and toughen up but that does not mean that he does not believe in his abilities to perform at the level that he wants Teddy to perform. Like I said I know that a lot of people on this forum are over and done with Teddy Bridgewater... but I am not so sure that the head coach of the team is. And at the end of the day I lean to the fact that he is not he thinks that he can do what he wants him to do once Coach has all the pieces in place.

I'm certainly not a Teddy fan but even objectively speakong Teddy has minimal, if any, trade value. If Carolina got anything notable, like beyond a 7th, for him I would be very surprised. Too much contract to be a backup, zero attractive ceiling for a team in search of a starter.

Maybe Teddy was Hurney's guy.  

Definitely feels like Rhule isn't as high on him.

I also thought it was interesting that Little and Grier were often inactive, could have been a bit of a power play between coach and GM.  Might want to draft his own QB.

We eat Teddys bonus and they get the backup and tutor for their young QB

They eat Carsons bonus and get rid of the controversy and we get a starter

      I'm probably one of those posters, but I make those posts because there are too many things going on that don't make sense. For instance, how does a RB that does something that hasn't been done in 14 years immediately get reverted back to 2nd string, and it takes a leadership council to make him the starter when he's averaging 3x the YPC? Your average fan shouldn't be screaming that for 2 weeks before the coach sees it. And that's one of many.  What you're seeing is frustration that we could be better, that we should be better, if our owner, FO, and coaches could do things that are so painfully obvious to even the most basic fan

      I think we're all struggling with what things are right now and what they have been. It's like getting ready to have bandages removed after a long period of injury. The healing, the new growth, they aren't going to be pretty, there's going to be some ongoing issues for a while at best and there's every chance that we're going to have to go back into the bandage situation all over again. And that sucks. But it's also a place where maybe, just maybe, the recovery is going to finally start happening. The bad days will be getting behind us.  It's not going to happen this year, but I believe from what I see that this year is showing that improvement. We focus on the QB because that's what all the pundits focus on, because it's the flashiest and most heralded position on the field. No one wants to put out a tweet about how a center is holding down their job and anchoring a line. They rarely celebrate that blocking tight end or special teams gunner. That fourth CB on the depth chart? Not a mention. And yet, those guys are the kind that we've been building here, we're building the lunch pail guys AND finding some future stars.  Is Bryce one of them? Might be a cornerstone of the team in the future as the second QB, might somehow just show out to end the season. Might flame out like many expect. But if that uncertainty is all we concentrate on, we're just going to miserably look at this team and maybe miss out on some solid green shoots that are finally beginning to poke through into the sunlight.
