Definitely going against the grain here...

Smart teams don't want to pay a $17m salary for a tutor.

Understood.

My thinking was 63 million minus the 15 million signing bonus Teddy recd.  48 million over 3 years is 16 per season.  Still a lot for a tutor, but what are they paying Wentz to be a healthy scratch?  Would have to be worked out between the two teams, but seems like we get a guy and keep our draft picks.

If your QB NEEDS an Elite RB, you don't have a franchise QB.

Says Aikman (Smith), Montana (Craig), Elway (Davis). Most QBs are not named Manning and Brady or Rodgers. Clearly Teddy isn’t elite, but it could be that Rhule thinks that he is polished and talented enough and has the calm demeanor to execute the type of offense that he wants run.

Masking Teddy's limitations with a healthy CMC isn't improving the team, it's a strategy to overcome Teddy's ability. There are zero good arguments for not improving at QB but there are also no guarantees we will find it this offseason unfortunately. If we can improve at a pivotal position we should and we shouldn't hesitate . This argument is like not bringing in a safety because we have Boston. Why mask when you can clearly improve.

We want to run the kind of offense that can win the game when given the ball in the fourth quarter with a chance to win.  You know, kind of like what happened in NEARLY ALL OF OUR LOSSES.

We want a QB who can make that happen.  KIND OF LIKE TEDDY DIDN'T.

Look, apologists can continue to make excuses for TB5 all they want, but the fact of the matter is he lost any stink of legitimacy when he failed all year long to win EVEN ONE GAME in the fourth when presented an opportunity.  Franchise QB's do those sorts of things.  Backups do not.  Oh yea, all those guys you mentioned?  Yea, they did it (do it) on the regular.

This is why Bridgewater is destined to be a backup.  He can only avoid losing games, he cannot win them.  We need a guy who can win games.

If Rhule truly thinks that, he needs to be fired on the spot. With that said, I don’t believe there’s any chance in hell Rhule watched Teddy play this year and think anything short of a bionic arm implant and a new brain will make Teddy get this offense where it needs to go.

I said most would disagree with this post and I was correct. We will know soon. But you all do understand that at present this team does not have the roster to make them a good team. Even with any top 5 QB in the league, the Panthers would not have made the playoffs this year. Not close.

What people forget is that when Rhule came in EVERYONE agreed that this was a two to three year rebuild. How soon we forget, eh? Look, Rhule is correct; Teddy wasn’t the same after the Tampa game. But I think the coach knows the last half of the season was a mess due to many things on and off the field, and he knows Teddy is much better than that. And so I will go on record again by saying that I think they skip on drafting a QB this year and instead focus on building the o-line.
