Not including a player, even a star player, in the process of choosing a head coach or a general manager isn't necessarily a mistake.

Telling him that you're going to include him and then not doing it...

If the Texicans are already $17M over the cap next year, I don't know how they can afford $30M dead money for the following seasons by trading Watson. I love Watson, but if he wanted out of Houston he probably should not have signed that contract.
