Enjoy prison, fella! I hear they just love pedos there.

So funny fact, a lot of child porn on the internet is actually posted by the FBI or the local SBI with a virus attached which notifies the agency when and from where it was downloaded.

that’s how they catch 99.9% of these people. By the time they actually search your house, your goose is cooked.

Yeah, the FBI infiltrated the Tor network quite some time ago. They crushed the drug dealers first(obvious money grab) and then they went after the pedos(which was the logical first target, IMO).

Like you mean with entrapment?  I have no problem doing that to pedophiles.  They are some of the worst creatures on this planet.  I'd be far too paranoid to think about using any kind of the internet/darknet for purchasing anything remotely illegal.  It's one thing to torrent a few movies, it's another to purchase things which would put you in jail.

Certainly, drug laws need to be changed, but that's a TB discussion...

I certainly agree.  The slippery slope for me is the fact that even if you're using it to put some scumbags behind bars, if you are trafficking a significant amount of the content, you're kind of creating some of the problem.  Plus, even if you're in law enforcement, you're still handling child pornography.  That in and of itself is just... discomforting.

First off, at least do a proper quote:

I hope you like prison food......and penis.

Second, a long time ago just out of college my company had a consulting manager that got caught with this and I remember my boss was livid. Big Italian guy, whose family has met this guy and his family. Said something about killing the guy if he ever saw him knowing the guy had net his kids.

I’ve prosecuted a number of these jackasses. I’ve never come across a case in which law enforcement is actually posting the contraband with a virus attached. I do know that they run ops with programs constantly searching for common child pornography descriptors, as well as hash values of known CP. When the program hits, it starts an automatic download, capturing every bit of data it can about the host (IP address, file name, hash value, etc).

Additionally, this stuff is terrible to see. Unfortunately, some of the images stayed burned into your mind. Thankfully, some law enforcement agencies are putting into place programs to help those personnel assigned to these cases. It can definitely take a toll if you are constantly investigating cases in which children are suffering such evil abuse.

    • I don't think so. I think once you're measuring electronically, the spot is where the sensor says it is. So if it says half yard short of the line to gain, that's the spot. Now how that works with scrums and the ball moving on two minute drills and poo is anybody's guess.
