You accuse "ya'll" (meaning all of us) of being racist then you state we are the ones that cannot discuss race in a professional manner.

I understand your point. Yes, there is some racist element in our fan base. But to boil it down to "ya'll" then expect anyone to care what you have to say afterwards when you just insulted them isn't a great strategy for civil discourse.

That’s fair criticism. I thought people could eliminate themselves from the “y’all” if they aren’t indeed racist. But history tells us that there are more “y’all’s” than less. I’m not looking to have a full blown race discussion. So fair enough.

Oh you mean at the end when Cam called them liars? When he said they gave up on him? When he felt like they jeopardize his ability to sign with a team early in free agency?

Alright, well you do you. There’s a lot more to it all. I’d be willing to bet when this is all done, Cam retires a Panther.

We'd probably have to cut him. He's a $20M cap hit if we release him (vs. $23M if he's on the roster), $15M if we designate him a post-June 1st cut.

Just no good options for them. Cut bait and don’t spend anymore towards him. 34M for 2020. But you would still have to sign some vet for around 5M so the team only saves 3M. Keeping the guy they know will probably happen. Or seriously offer a pick to get rid of his salary.

I can’t remember... when was the last time we used the post June 1st cut?

Because when you play around with the overthecap calculator it’s a very real possibility we use it this year.

I respect trying to stay unfiltered and actually speak your mind a lot. More so than people that follow the wave and say nothing controversial whatsoever for the sake of being in a hugbox. However, I find it hard to believe that the average Panthers fan in 2020 is racist. That feels like a really sweeping generalization to make; the "Put Derek Anderson in!" crowd was never more than a few drunk hicks at a sports bar in my experience and I lived in a rural area. Look at the amount of Cam jersies people bought. Our fans, outside of that vocal minority, loved the guy. You could've just said that Deshaun might have second thoughts over how we wronged Cam. Race doesn't play a factor in how sloppy that divorce was, I think that it's something that'd be in the back of his mind at least but at the same time if we're trading for him wouldn't that mean we're signing up for him long-term? I'm not really convinced that will be the reason he opts to mark us off of his list if we're actually making a play for him.

What went down between the Panthers and Cam was business, not personal.

I think Deshaun is smart enough to distinguish between the two.

And you could be 100% correct, but if you’re hand picking your destination every little thing matters.

But in the words of MJ I definitely think Cam took it personally.

Good point, my worry is how are we gonna have any sort of o line with so much cap going between Watson and Teddy. Especially given Watsons injury history we could be setting him up for an injury just like the Bengals did with Burrow this year.

I don't doubt that at all either. But we have really only ever heard Cam's side of the story. I would be interested in hearing the other.

Out of respect for the mods I’m going to say I respect your point of view, but believe the situation in Charlotte was far worse than that. If this comes up in the TB I’ll be happy to elaborate.

Matt Khalil. At least he’s the last one designated. Luke counts around 7.5M this year because they waited until after June 1 to cut/retire him.

It should definitely be use on KK. They could do someone else as well.
