Jonathan Jones thinks Deshaun to Carolina could happen.

In theory if we do trade CMC + for Watson then the + becomes a lot less.  Our 2nd rounder this year and next?

I don't think Houston gets a 1st rounder if we trade CMC to them....heck it may be they ship back a 3rd rounder to us in such a deal.

We have to remember we are probably losing Samuel so it would be nice to be able to keep CMC to replace what Samuel did in the offense this past year.

I say go for it and trade some 1st rounders, some 2nd rounders, maybe throw Teddy in there if we can and maybe get a 3rd or 4th round pick in future drafts.

Jones tweeted about us getting Watson for 2 first round picks and cmc.

you really think that’s all it would take to get him?

i doubt it. If that’s all then yes do it.

Jones actually tweeted polls about this for at least the Dolphins, probably other teams too (I think for the Dolphins, it was Tua plus 2 1st rounders).  I think he's gauging fan interest, not using any actual knowledge of what's being discussed between the teams. I think it's going to take more that that. At least another second, and very possibly another 1st, to get it done, unless the Texans management are complete morons.

Just playing devils advocate here but Ryan Tannehill had the same 33td to 7 ints that Watson did this past season and has more playoff wins.

I get that and understand where your coming from, but IMO its not a great comparison because of the fact that we've seen what Tannehill can do with a less than stellar roster in Miami, and at his peak there, 4200 yards, 27 tds, 12 INTS, thats a far stretch from the season that Watson just put out with a crappy roster in 4800 yds, 33 tds, 7 INT.  Tannehill had a good season, but without Henry as a threat, his playaction which made up a lot of his big pass plays, his stats would look dramatically different, and most likely look a lot like the seasons he had in Miami.

However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down.
