Tepper disagrees. I'm thinking Tepper will buy Carowinds and tear it down, build a stadium and Panther Park, with fewer rides, but the rides will bear the names of Panther greats...the Kuechly Coaster and Peppers Parachute Drop...stuff like that.

All joking aside the Carowinds location would be a fantastic location for the stadium.

If you guys are talking about a Super Bowl, that's almost certainly going to require a new stadium.  The NFL has basically used the Super Bowl as a reward for building new stadiums for several years now. Tampa only got it this year because of construction delays for the LA stadium and it has the benefit of being a warm weather location.

That puppy is going up right by the team facility.  You think SC would completely terraform that area, give up that kind of land, pass a law that gives pro sports teams tax breaks, just so the team can practice here (Im in SC).  You think Tepper would commit that sort of money to a complex, and have a vision for retail stores and hotels so people can come walk by a building thats having a closed door practice?

That stadium is coming to SC.  Im from NC but to those snobby holier than thou types in NC that scoff at a stadium in Rock Hill.....bye.

The only reason it would ever end up in SC is if Tep gets a deal that seriously milks the sc taxpayer.

I don’t see how anyone could get excited about that.

Tep would lose a lot of goodwill in clt and NC if he moves the team.

If the stadium and HQ are both in SC, then it would be viewed as a SC team.

Calling CLT the host city when the game is played in a different state is a stretch, and I don’t see CLT going along and paying that bill to ‘host’ a SB that it really wouldn’t be hosting.

Tepper is more about cash and winning that he will ever be about goodwill in Charlotte

Nothing is for certain but to dismiss the possibility of a  stadium down there is very foolish

However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down.
