and Texans take back his signing bonus.  Also if they give away Watson for nothing their fan base is also mad.

Honestly both sides stand to lose, its a game of who blinks first, but this idea that Watson has all the leverage is misinformed.

The Texans have a lot more to lose. The longer it drags out, the more negative PR they receive. Watson could lose his signing bonus, and make up tge difference not paying income tax in Florida compared to the horrendous amounts he would pay on New York.

Oh, and this discussion was about why Watson would prefer the Jets over Miami, not who the team gets a better offer from. I made many points supporting why Miami is better. Armando is an idiot

"Texans say we will only accept the Jets offer"

Watson counters with, fine, then you can play the season without me, and nothing to sell your fan base on since Miami owns your picks

Why would he refuse to play for them when he's a big fan of their head coach?

Doesn't anyone else find it kinda funny that this story comes out on the heels of the other one?

And it’s two divisional opponents... this is to drive the market. If those two get into a bidding war, it will help the Texans get into a prime situation.

this is a pure trade bloat play

Never said he would for sure. My original post was stating to not put to much into tge article based on it being from Armando Salguero. Then I simply questioned why Watson would move on from a terrible franchise, and want to go to a worse ran franchise. I also listed out many reasons that would seem to make Miami a better fit. As for their coach, yeah he looks the part but is unproven. Coachong is only part of it, the front office has to be competent as well

Ahhhh yes, Armando Salguero huge NFL Insider!

To back up my sarcasm, he writes for a Miami paper so of course the Dolphins are amongst Watson's top choices.

Miami does have the ammo though to make the trade, but like a lot of others have said:  Miami already fleeced Houston once and play in the AFC....does Houston let Miami take advantage of them again?

    • The team wore down and shots stopped falling.  Ball, Miller and Kon have to play well.  At least 2 of the 3.  2/16…0/6. That ain’t gonna cut it.     If Bridges and White are the only ones hitting from 3, it’s not gonna go well.  The 3’s make Moose and Kalk work.  No 3’s it gets too crowded for them with all the bodies crashing the boards.    (Kalk needs to add strength, something awful tho.)
    • Was at the game and NYCFC honestly outplayed CLT the whole way.  Khalina and Zaha carried the team.  Zaha's wife on IG making it sound like he's gone come July. They're going to have to pay him or find a big time replacement because the team looks like pretty lost without him.
    • No one's saying LaMelo has no blame we're responding to you acting like he's the reason they lost. The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again. It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team. I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.  And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.
