My final offer:

2021 1st and 2nd
2022 1st and 3rd
2023 2nd
CMC
Shaq Thompson

This is as far as I would go. Burns, Chinn, or Brown? GTFO

If the Texans said no to that then they’re just not gonna deal him. That’s four 1st round talents...one of which would immediately be the best player on the team. Draft your QB of the future...move on from Deshaun.

We get the QB we need and improve our cap situation at the same time. It’s a win/win/win. Both side should absolutely do that deal.

With them needing to replace JJ Watt, there's no way you get a deal done without offering Burns.

Not really, they have a ton of holes as it is. I highly highly doubt they get a Watt replacement in any Watson trade, regardless of whether it’s us or another team.

They have multiple first round picks....draft. a DE who will be cheaper for longer than Burns. If they get offered that deal then they’d be dumb to turn it down. Basically 3 tries to draft a QB to replace Watson and a DE to replace Watt....PLUS CMC and Shaq.

That is about what it will take.

Having seen that, I am on board with trading down with Cincinnati and targeting Fields or Lance.

I want to see if Rhule talks about Jones any more after last week.  I think he is the "last resort" or he was talking up Jones to get someone to leapfrog Lance?  So much liar's poker going on....

We need Verge to get us some insider info.  We can call our web of insider information VAnon.

Then if we do not get who we want we can storm BOA Stadium before the contract has been ratified.  All original ideas.

The framework John McClain mentioned included two defensive starters.

I seriously doubt they can be talked into seeing the immense value of Shaq Thompson.

    • I agree it is more about the OL. If you happen to have a world beater with a great OL then that’s better obviously but you don’t need to have that.  Capable and durable guys that can get to the second level with good blocking can be plenty.
    • I think Gibbs is special, but you’re right, some of the top investments have proven to not be much different than some 2nds and 3rds. Taylor for example is on an MVP level season. James Cook is doing better than Breece Hall for example. Raiders weren’t in a good spot to draft Jeanty. Same with the Falcons/Bijan.  You gotta swing at the right time — the investment shouldn’t come too early. You almost have to stumble into a guy mid to late rounds while building or find that guy to put you over the top when the team is finally well rounded.
    • Like I said in another post yesterday, the handling of the offensive line by Fitterer and mostly Morgan has been crazy. We've spent way too much money(Lewis and Hunt) to keep Bryce upright instead of using our picks in the 2nd round on JPJ and Frazier. Could have kept an injured Corbett at guard, Brady at swing, and still taken Maye as a backup, sorry Zavala. We wouldn't have taken XL, but XL hasn't been as advertised anyway, and Brooks hasn't contributed anything. Moton's extension with it's signing bonus made him uncutable. Icky's contract was due at the same time Bryce's 3rd year ended, and we all know it's extension or 5th year, and if we're going to do a 5th year, he's going to want the extension.  To me the whole thing is just ridiculous. Right now, depending on if Tepper decides to keep Bryce, it feels like we're going to have to choose between Icky and a Bryce extension. Maybe he plays on the 5th year, but I think he'll want the big money guarantee.  JMO, but if you took a look at how the contracts could potentially fall, the writing was on the wall that this could be a cash flow nightmare. Too many contract guarantees, not enough rookie contracts to offset the upcoming paydays.
