If you are Washington...4 first rounders would be less IMO than 3 first rounders and Chase Young.

I don't know what it will take.  I think Stafford went for too much and has skewed the Watson conversation to a point I may not be comfortable with anymore.

I was cool w/ 2 first and CMC.  Then maybe some additional non-first round picks. I'm fine burning some 2nd and 3rd rounders.  Based on the Stafford thing I clearly got no feel on what teams are willing to do in this moment though.

I’m pretty confident whatever it ends up being you will be uncomfortable with it.
People on this board have severely understated it from the start.  The Stafford trade was a bit of a wake up call.
A trade for a QB like Watson is going to hurt, take whatever you are comfortable with and add to it.

I probably max out at 3 first and CMC. In terms of top tier assets.   I’m not giving up my young defensive players.   Well, the big 3.

You've got to go all out! The payoff would be extraordinary!

This is a guy who wouldn't scoff at moving to the southeast, it's home.

"Fit" is also important in long term decisions, Stafford showed that.

Watson needs to be the absolute FOCUS of our QB upgrade. There may be no better "fit" for the Panthers.

My final offer:

2021 1st and 2nd
2022 1st and 3rd
2023 2nd
CMC
Shaq Thompson

This is as far as I would go. Burns, Chinn, or Brown? GTFO

I wouldn't give them CMC.  Even though his position isn't as valuable, personally for me having Watson without CMC would ruin the whole allure.  I want to see Watson and CMC in the same offense.

    • A team should always be putting at least one or two draft picks in at tackle and guard each season. Those guys just don't last nearly long enough and those that do get very, very expensive. In our situation, we need a little more time to see what the Icky injury works itself out to. Njiman performed really well out there and if this injury lingers into the next season, then he might do well enough there to hold the line for the team. Or we could draft early if there is a stud LOT in the draft when our spot comes along.  Honestly, we may be looking at replacing both LT and RT this season at this point. Moton is getting long in the tooth and while he deserves a shot to go for a playoff run with this team, I don't know whether we will really see him come back next season yet. It's still so darned early in all of this to say.
    • Because we had a ton of things go our way this year and made the playoffs with a -70 point differential.  This year was the outlier.  Regression to the mean is unavoidable.  So the team will have to significantly improve to beat 8 wins next year.
    • One thing I noticed in this game (and I say this as the biggest of Bryce Young haters) is that Bryce did do a solid job of throwing into voids in this game, and leading receivers on crossers.  There were a few times where I was thinking "where the hell is he throwing it" only for a receiver to appear out of nowhere and catch it in stride.  Mike McDaniel might be a guy that can squeeze a little bit of production out of the otherwise ghastly Bryce Young. His offenses heavily feature that style of passing game.  I've heard Idzik is drawing interest from other teams.  If so, bringing McDaniel in at OC would be a stellar move.  I know it'll never happen, but fun to think about.
