Rams tried to trade for Aaron Rodgers first

The Los Angeles Times' Sam Farmer reports the Rams "made a run" at Aaron Rodgers, but that the Packers were "adamant" he is not on the block.

Rodgers had his fun stirring the pot following the Packers' NFC Championship Game loss to the Bucs, but all parties have spent the past week either strongly suggesting — in Rodgers' case — or outright insisting — in the team's case — that he will be back in Green Bay in 2021. This dynamic will never go back to normal following the Pack's first-round selection of Jordan Love, but Rodgers' MVP play in 2020 has rendered any intrigue moot for at least another year.

Very aggressive.  Rams are trying to go all in for next year.

Also, Rodgers is not available.

Yep, thinking they can replicate the Buc's meteoric rise due to Tom Brady.  News flash: like him or hate him, there's only one Tom Brady.

That’s absurd. Rodgers outplayed Brady in that game and it wasn’t even close. You honestly think that if the NFC championship game was LA vs TB with Rodgers under center TB still wins? Rodgers is a significantly better QB than Brady at this stage in their respective careers

My point went over your head.  Let me use the NBA as an example then.  You have a good team, but can't  seem to get over the hump in the playoffs for the ring, so said team goes out and tries to get Steph Curry because the Lakers got Labron that lead to a ring.  My point, trying to buy a championship just because it seemingly worked for another team.  The Chiefs can ultimately screw up that plan for the Bucs.

Rogers is arguably better than Brady at this stage, but not by much and Aaron's edge is purely in his arm strength.  However, that wasn't my point.

Your point was that La couldn’t replicate TB’s result with Rodgers because there’s only ONE Brady. But in reality LA has a great roster, and in reality Rodgers is a better QB than Brady, by what margin is irrelevant to the conversation. So are you saying that teams that make a move like that are ultimately unsuccessful and it’s detrimental to them long term? Because if so you’re initial comment did not indicate that whatsoever, seemed like you were directly comparing two teams and two QB’s ala your NBA analogy- which isn’t really an analogy because it’s the exact same thing as the original scenario just nba instead of nfl, so doesn’t really help illuminate any greater point.

MY point is that LA with Rodgers would be insane, and would be so much fun to watch, and undoubtedly would be Super Bowl favorites going into next year.

    • Not sure he is in the top ten but: His 9.99 RAS score, second among 1,512 tackles since 1987, isn't a gimmick. You see every bit of that explosiveness translate to the field when he kicks and slides in pass sets. NFLDraftBuzz

    • I got called into HR one time, as they were doing their research after a verbal altercation that I had with another employee. He was the one that started the sh¡t and had the nerve to go to HR. Well, I did the meeting, & the manager gave me her card & said if there was anything else I wanted to say regarding the investigation, to contact her. I thought about it later that day, so I used our company email and told her that I was willing to take a lie detector test, and that if he and his two friends were willing to do the same, once it was determined that they were lying and that I was telling the truth, then they would have to be punished accordingly. Funny thing is, after that, I never heard from her again, or anything about the investigation. It's like it never happened.  Anyway, yeah 89 isn't doing himself any favors with this one. He wants to fight with a guy old enough to be his dad because of Rivera's lack of communication, even if there was some perceived hypocrisy going on. That's just not a good look.
