Would have made sense to adjust to that (or something) once they saw what was happening last night, but apparently not.

Andy Reid is universally considered an offensive genius, but he's been known to make some positively inexplicable decisions in the playoffs from time to time.

I'd have to say this is one of them.

They did the exact same thing we did (even down to the same guy at LT) in 2015. They also had a strong armed mobile QB they thought could get them out of trouble (just like we did). They gave up on their running game and QB keeper options (just like we did).

The results were eerily similar to ours.

Yeah, they abandoned the run VERY early on. I get that the Bucs are a great run D, but you can't just flat out abandon the run early especially when you're struggling to pass protect.

I agree and there's a certain part of the run game that is about inflicting hits on the opponent's d-line. And those back-up tackles can be better put to use as run blockers than pass blockers. 

And, as much as I'm not a fan of Gronk's, I have to give him credit for being a beast when it came to blocking during the game.

Vintage Philly Andy Reid. 

Tampa never did shut the KC run game down.  KC simply opted away from any kind of balance and refused to aid the OL.

When they came out and looked like they were running pretty well in the first drive of the second half, I thought maybe things had changed.

Tampa scoring pretty easily on the responding drive probably killed that.

Yeah one bad game as OC and it equals a Future bad HC...just like yrs of excellence at OC or DC equals great HC...BS!

Just let me take this moment tonsay that so.many fans castrated our coaches for doing this.  

While fans automatically think backups should get help, players are expected to execute the playback, and I promise you that adding help to the tackles isn't a large part of any teams playback. 

Yes, it ended up costing cost the Chiefs the  game, but throwing out most of what your offense has executed for the year, would have most likely ended in a similar result.

I expected KC to put on a better show as well. This reminded me a lot of our Super Bowl loss to Denver, adjustments were never made. Another similarity is the bigger story in both games.

In our game, it was all about Peyton. Everyone knew it was his last game and what better way to end his career than with a SB win.

In the KC, it was all about Brady. Leaving NE and immediately making it to the Super Bowl with another team. But that's not all, Brady made history with this team. Becoming the 1st NFL team to play a SB in their own stadium and the 1st to win a SB in their own stadium.

Both stories were bigger than the game!

As far as was Eric Bieniemy not showing other teams that they made a mistake,  I disagree, 30 other teams were watching the game from home....

Sometimes being really good/skilled and having lots of success at what you do ends up being your undoing. You become blind in your "knowledge". You can't learn (see) when you already "know".

He's a great coach, but for me, that's what happened to him, and has happened to many others at times - in all walks of life.

      TMac to finish up Feels good after pads came on. Physicality is a little different, playstyle is a little different. Refs let the players play, so he has to earn his stripes to get calls and just has to be better playing through contact. Focusing on staying confident and listening to coaches. Not much has changed for him, still trying to be his authentic self. Was asked about boxing practice he was seen doing. He's done that since he was a kid because his dad was a boxer and taught his siblings. Was the youngest and got beat up the most, but now he's the fourth of sixth children. Boxing helps with his cardio and being reactive with his hands to the ball + DB. Admits to struggling the first couple of days, hats off to the DB corps for making him better every single day but had his best day on Wednesday. Even the best get got. Just have to remain confident in preparation and abilities. Confidence will take you only so far, and that's where his resilience plays a factor. XL is authentic and great to have in the room. Can rely on him to be the same guy every day. They make each other better. Everybody feeds off of each other and when one person wins they all win. Happy to be a part of the receiver room. Was asked about how he was laughing harder than everybody else at XL getting his feet in the water off the back of the boat: "Man he needs to be stopped bro... He can't be serious but he was serious. It's all good." Playing against the increased amount of press he's facing in practice is helping him get more physical. His job is to catch the ball, so if it touches his hand he has to come down with it. Only catches with one hand if he needs to, but that gives the QB a bigger catch radius. Had a pregame routine where he did a 360 one-handed catch, but doesn't do it anymore. Working on being a pro: Getting into the facility early and getting treatment, eating better, etc. Just wants to win re: rookie goals. Anything he can do to help the team win. "I'm looking for to the season man and keep pounding."

      DJ Wonnum up next Felt the defense came out ready to work at all levels and took over practice. New standard around here. Young guys have to know they're coming in to work. Last year was not the standard. Nic and Princely are fun. Different personalities but loves what they bring to the room. Sky is the limit for them. Nic sits next to Wonnum, Princeley sits next to Jones II. Allows them to be better mentors. Feels great and ready to go Incoom's athleticism allows him to bend and get low even to compensate for not being the biggest guy. Can set the edge. EDGE guys are helped when the ILBs can get home because it allows them to be a little more free while still in scheme. DB being back means his dominance is back. Can set the edge from the 3 or wherever he's at to make the runs bounce to the EDGE guys. Winning mentality and standard this year. Championship level from practice to how you live off of the field. Accept greatness and excellence with guys wanting to come to work every day. Not settling for anything less. Been in guys' shoes that are fighting for roster spots so he knows how to address them. Remembers not knowing what's next, especially as a rookie. Have a clear mind and ask the older guys a lot of questions. Has a good relationship already with Pat Jones II due to knowing each other and talking football all of the time. Can make hand gestures and know immediately what to adjust. Taking care of his body and excited to start the season. Getting it acclimated to football again by being able to tackle and bring players to the ground. Didn't know they were playing live tomorrow. Don't tell me it'll be "thud." Browns next week will allow them to hit somebody else and get a feel of what a different team is doing. Also allows the team to see where they're at on offense and defense. Ready to play football. Not worried about the QB matchup for Cleveland, going to play hard regardless of who is back there.
